Me too. He said his grandfather had 10 claims. I figured finding the old claims would be the best place to start. Spent a few hours on LR2000 and searched all the townships in that area, and there wasn't a claim listed to anybody named "Bullock." There's a ton of old claims and all the old lode claims are closed. There're 10 160 acre placer claims all owned by the same association that are active. That leads me to conclude that the old claims were closed before 1980. A claim located before 1980 would have to be active after 1980 to be on LR2000. So much for finding the area the easy way. lol

You can use micro fish film at the SLC BLM to search pre 1980 claims. Bullock dropped the claims in the late 1950's with my family claiming the area in the late 1960's. @@LuckyBaldwin777

Duchesne River near the 35 is at the very bottom end of Rock Creek. Now, if that is your starting point, you follow Rock Creek up quite a ways from there, the only lake to the right of Rock Creek as indicated on the Buckskin Map (with a road nearby) is Bear Lake. Next possible lake north, now filled in with a large leveled off area is the Upper Stillwater Reservoir. Rock Creek heads north of the reservoir and also branches off below the reservoir to the left (looking at Google Maps) and becomes South Fork, which leads into some very rugged terrain with an unnamed lake up a ways on the very right of the creek...but no roads follow South Fork out there. Rock Creek north of the reservoir also leads into some very rugged terrain and no roads are visible out there. The mine would have to be either around the reservoir (could have been a lake at one time) or Bear Lake areas? There also appears to be a geologic feature (fault?) between Bear Lake and Rock Creek...? This would be right in the middle of Uintah Territory.

All that gold is better off feeding hungry people and children then it is sitting in a mountain! People are selfish and are already well to do so they seal up something so wonderful. The church used the gold for them and their statues, meanwhile taking your tithing money

Having owned Bullocks find for a few years( in the past ) I can attest to the ( probable ) accuracy of this account ! Maybe this time , the true discovery ( and ownership ) will be belatedly recognized ! I have performed transmit and receive analysis from north of vernal to Woods Cross ( also on Hoyt Peak ) . The rest of the story has yet to be disclosed . But , it is a large and interesting story . I wish total success for those involved - just perform recovery as the Spanish did - keep it clean, keep it small , and help all in need of help ( the truly needy ).👍

Thanks Terry and Mr Bullock! All the old timers here in Heber have stories about getting shot at when they get too close to the mine! The Church probably owns it, my guess. Terry I need to ask you about a place my Grandpa found in southern Utah. I just got a copy of what he typed about it from my late Father's wife. Big cave he found in the 60's. My Grandpa Johnson was a self employed miner. Interesting document!

This is the third story I've heard about somebody actually finding the Lost Rhodes gold mine. Either they're all true and all three parties happened to find the mine independent of one another, or they're all blowing smoke. One has to ask why nobody has taken photos/video of inside of the mine? One could easily do that without divulging the mine's location, but there's always some convenient reason why that hasn't been done.

It is all going to be revealed at the 2024 Moon Lake Gathering. Nobody was in the mines shaft since the new Ute Indian Chief filled the shaft in and kicked Rhoades out of the Uintas. If you're not a professional dowser you will never find the mine. After we claim it, extremely high grade gold dowsing RU-vid videos will be shown on "Tracy and Michael's Dowsing Adventure. Everybody else does not know where it is and in time it will be either core-drilled or redinging and retimbering the old Spanish/Rhoades ORO 1856 Pine Mine Tree Shaft Mine. Stay tuned and find out the truth.

That amount of gold would make more than 4 rings. Ive made a ring from solid gold. It is 10 grams and passes 24k scratch test... aaand it is not a small ring...

seth the 3 crosses are three mines in a row north of the 1856 Tree and mine .. west of the mine and tree there is a grave site... not shown on these two maps...

That is the "dinasuar back ridge" you follow to the two sets of women breast peaks you travel through (two different locations), then follow Slate Creek to its headwaters, then travel south on the ridgeline with ending at the Old Paint Mine, which was allready claimed with mining in progress, so Bullock left that on the copied buckskin map of Rhoades with taking the southern ORO 1856 Pine Tree Mine Shaft (the best of the two) off the copied buckskin map with claiming it, with it backfiring after a newspaper article for advertizing stockholder investment when other people claim jumped him with all of the termoil giving Bullock a death blow on seeking stockholder investment so Bullock dropped the claims and moved on with the other projects he had going. Rhoades took the out of the way circling around Moon Lake so that he could spy on anybody following him, with deviating off the trail sending the followers on a wild goose chase, which he had to do several times.

There are only two gold mines in the area and about 100 prospect pits and tunnels following weak mineralization. Everybody finds these worthless prospect pits and tunnels with thinking they found something valuable, and even writes books about it. The truth will be revealed at the 2024 Moon Lake Gathering.

Been there seen the dozer tracks. They stopped because they hit rock. Erosions have opened up a few portals. They are only for people braver than I. I did pull some. It's tight. I still have nightmares of feeling stuck and alone. Don't go there. It will be a bad death.

There is bulldozer tracks with trails all around Moon Lake because of early horse drawn & early 1920's bulldozers for the heavy timbering in the thick pine forest.

I had a one-tenth ounce 999 fine gold nugget I sold at the Quartzite Gold show. Everybody there was shocked about it being that pure. It is rare in small gold nuggets and I have only heard about small gold nuggets being that pure. But 8 ounces of 9999 or 999 would probably not be possible, but who knows?

Problems with this story- Whoever bulldozed the site why in the world would you not stake a claim on it? We have the tech now, any ground penetrating radar could find this spot in no time. Not really buying this.
