I finally got my Sacred Wood fragrance!!! It smells amazing!!! I have never smelled anything like it ... it’s worth every penny 💪. Thank you for the video .. Keep dropping the knowledge on legends just like this..
Hey Manny, sorry for the confusing comment before hand. Basically , I was trying to say that Premiere Avenue had really great deals on By Kilian , but not so much now. That figures huh. Premiere still has some good deals to be had though. Here some in regards to AdP ; shopping-premiereavenue.com/en/acqua-di-parma/perfumes/travel-set/ The next time I ordered from them, I might get a sample of Scared Wood. Thanks for the great review.
I've yet to order from PA but thank you again for clarifying, and for your testimonial. Definitely will be going through this site! Much love as always. =]
This fragrance is very blazae, so many reviewers hype it and speak as if it’s magical however in my opinion it’s a very weak fragrance across the board. Linear scent , weak to little projection, 0 silage , 3 full sprays on my arm from a full bottle and you need to get up to skin to smell the fragrance which is not impressive. Honestly Palo Santo by Cremo a 20$ fragrance is a better performer and actually smells more alluring although it’s 2-3 hrs . Xerjoff Richwood is vastly superior 10 fold compared to this Kilian fragrance. I recommend getting into attars as they are so much more complex and you can blend scents to create unique one off profiles that last and project as well as stimulate your state of being tremendously. Maison Anthony Marmin has incredible attars at phenomenal prices and are simply beyond the caliber of a lot of designer and niche fragrances . If you can afford to get into a few Ensar Oud compositions then you will understand the feeling your are truly searching for in artisanal aromas .
Sacred Wood is the best sandalwood base fragrance imo! Love that creamy woody scent! One of the very few By Killian fragrances that I'm willing to pay the full presentation. The others being Single Malt and Apple Brandy. The rest of the fragrances, although all good scents, aren't worth the price tag. Much love brother! #demonetizationsucks
Baecred Wood and Single and Ready to Mingle Malt FTW! Thank you as always for the kind words and ongoing support. Thankfully I got the demonetization issues sorted out for now. :P
Excellent video as always! Im jealous you can get your nose on Kilian out in Eastern Canada. Out in Alberta no places have it, even By Kilian told me I was SOL and to just travel to Toronto to try their stuff.
Sorry to hear, Wes! I know Nordstrom at the Chinook Centre doesn't have By Kilian distribution, but I'm almost positive that the Saks they're building there will have them [hopefully]. Thank you for the kind words and ongoing support. =]
the other day i was doing a search on this fragrance and i accidentally typed in morning wood. i think that was your nickname for it on one of you other videos. just curious, how does this compare to le labo santal 33?
Sacred Wood is lovely. I think Kilian should drop the coffin presentation. I own several by Kilian refill/travel. Full presentation STH Extreme. Love the bottle and great marketing to refill the same bottle but $100 for the coffin ... nah!
It's a luxury brand at the end of the day, so to have both an ostentatious presentation and a minimalist one is really cool. Like, who else is giving people options at a premium price point? Fair play to them. But yeah, I agree that the evaluation is still too harsh for the coffin. :P Thank you for stopping by! =]
Great take on this frag, I’m glad you created it because there aren’t a lot of vids out there on this one. I just ordered a sample. A couple people on Fragrantica have mentioned a “pickle juice” accord. Do you pick up on anything that might give off that impression?
You’re wrong about sandalwood my bro. The reason it’s in everything is that Australian plantations have figured out how to grow sandalwood of a higher grade than Mysore (read Frederic malles interview on this) for cheap. There is a ton of high grade natural sandalwood now that’s why you see it everywhere.
Hi Manny I need your help, I want to buy CHRISTIAN DIOR LP Gris Montaigne but I think they change the name to Gris Dior. It’s still the same smell ? Thanks
If you want to buy Gris Montaigne, check in with your nearest Christian Dior counter and see if they can mail you any leftover bottles of Gris Montaigne. From what I know, Gris Dior is supposed to be the same scent, but they could have done more than just rename it if you know what I mean. You're welcome and thanks for asking. =]
I wouldn't say that it was outright trying to emulate either of those more nuanced scents. To me, Sacred Wood if anything, is just trying to solely capture sandalwood's essence for the wearer and whoever gets a whiff of it. I wouldn't call that original either, but I think it does a good job of doing the aforementioned. Thank you for your take! =]
Hey man, I just wanted your opinion.. Have figured out that you do love the Single Malt the most, and at the moment I am interested in getting one, but got confused after reading some reviews that it does smell super similar and almost the same as the Pure Malt by Thierry Mugler, which I enjoy a lot, but have a bottle of it, so don't want to buy the same mood again. Could you help me to understand are these really so similar or even at least the same or? Would be much appreciated. Thanks!
I'm back. Lol. Sacred Wood is a decent scent. I personally don't feel it warrants the mrsp price tag because it reminds me of the cheap TKD boards I would break as a kid, but it is pleasant.
You're probably not a sandalwood fan altogether I take it. I was a TaeKwonDo practitioner at one point too, but I don't get that vibe remotely. That's what is great about fragrance; they're all different, and we each perceive them differently. Thanks for tuning in, fam! =]
Manny my man.... you make it sound really interesting, I have around a 100 fragrances now in my arsenal, Yay! 😆 But not a single sandalwood scent. I definitely have to get my nose on it, don’t know whether Im gonna like it or not, but it’s always about exploring new things in life 😎 And brah... I would also like to share my latest acquisition with you, it is Tom ford noir extreme, it’s kinda cold in Dubai atm and the weather is just perfect for such a scent❤️ #SOTM I Would also like to know your opinion on it 😁 Like always Great work brah ❤️✌🏻
To be honest, I need more time with Noir Extreme, but I do really like it for its price point! Hope you get your nose on Sacred Wood one day though! And thank you for the kind words and ongoing support, Amit. Much love as always! =]
Thought I was going nuts when I saw this pop up again. Can't imagine what RU-vid took issue with in the original video. Sacred Wood was never on my radar but I might have to check it out. Not sure I'd ever snag this kind of frag at that MSRP though. Even the refill seems a bit pricey.
The RU-vid algorithm for monetization/demonetization isn't perfect, but I just have to do my due diligence as far as furthermore uploading "properly" from now on. :P And as far as the other fragrances in the same genre within the full presentation/refill presentation's price point [higher or lower], this one reeks as the best quality in my personal opinion. Just give it a shot in the future if you can! Thank you as always for your feedback, Ryan! =]
btw that is a good deal, I would probably still buy the bottle as I find the refill alone to be a little well...underwhelming but paying the same or the bottle as the refill that would be great
Thanks Manny for the intro to this last year. I got a decant and loved it. Ordering a bottle soon! It's become one of my favorite AF scents ever. Top 5 for me!
Wicked presentation bro, you were like a kid in a candy shop, so cool to watch hahah but concerning By Killian, haven't tried anything.. though they sound wicked..
Tam Dao is good too! I own both, but for anyone who isn't a sandalwood enthusiast, owning both isn't practical. I prefer Sacred Wood's straightforward approach overall. It's like I only get a creamy, milky, sandalwoody dry down with it, which I prefer. Tam Dao is way more dimensional with its spices and coniferous vibes though. Just depends what you are into. Thank you for stopping by! =]
First! Another very polished review, Manny. Was actually impressed by SW but to me STH is the frontrunner to those Kilians I have tested so far. I find SW very similar to Tam Dao. Dying to test others like Apple Brandy, Vodka on the Rocks, Single Malt, etc. Sorry, no FB so can't join your forum : (
The initial video had some likes before I had to take it down in favour of this one. Darn demonetization issues, ugh! Thank you for the ongoing support! =]
Of course i'll do that, especially in the niche market. For example, i was disappointed about tiziana terenzi-laudano nero after i got a sample. Same thing for juliette has a gun(anyway & gold rose oudh). Instead, i liked and bought Herod & Layton by Parfums de Marly. Also, after i watched many of your videos, i apreciate your taste in fragrances. Unfortunately, in Romania(Dracula-Transylvania, Nadia Comaneci, Ceausescu:)) ), in the last years, only Notino(aoro.ro) provide us with a couple of niche fragrances and samples from time to time. Sephora & Douglas have only Creed & Tom Ford Private Blend(just a few of them) from this category. I avoid buying fragrances, for now, from ebay or amazon.
I have a couple of fragrance community friends in Romania myself! Shout-outs to you all over there. Hope you enjoy Sacred Wood when you're able to test it then! Much love again! =]
