Does Beige Mommy realize that she took a non-toxic toy that a child could safely chew on or scratch, breathe around, and covered it with a toxic layer that could harm her child...
i wanna be aestheic when i can have an house but i wont go this far i will have an white house an beige floor and white walls but i wont ruin mine house into an sad beige and i wont turn into an basic white mom i will have color in mine house for mine kids toys almost everything will have color and 56% is white/aestheic and 57% of it will be colored
My parents used to work at step two and depending on how the kids play with the toy that spray paint will stain the plastic and make a gross blend as it rubs off. But most likely will chip off or rub off on clothes. It's why when my mom wanted a red step 2 wagon the two had to dye the plastic at the factory because other paints would quickly rub off or poison us. Step 2 plastic accordion to them, it's some of the worse plastic to try and paint especially spray paint because of the kind of plastic it is. It's supposed to make it easier to clean especially outside sets and the slides.
The fact that these women rather put their Kim Kardashian neutral aesthetic first than their children is unfit parenting because children loves bright colors until they get older.
Not only that but psychological studies have found that color can influence mood and behavior, stimulate the brain and body, and even affect children's health. Also brightly colored toys also help babies develop their eyesight.
Not to mention how unsafe that is. I'm hoping the child is so bored by that tree that they don't play with it. Because, at that age, it's going straight in their mouth, and that can't be good!
@@mimib323THIS!!! All I could think about that whole time was how unsafe and toxic the spray paint would be to a little one. Not to mention COLOR is part of how their brains develop and is what keeps them interested at a young age. Idk beyond ridiculous imo

I think it’s important to mention that painting kids toys is really risky to their health. They put everything in their mouths so you can’t just use any paint you like... Also kids need bright colours as part of their development, I don’t care if people want a plain Christmas even though I don’t like it personally. But kids need bright colours, if people can’t even consider their kids’ needs when it comes to something as inconsequential as aesthetics I hate to think how else they could be being neglecting them
@@EverestIX-kd9vz I only learnt about it recently! Before I thought it was to help them learn the colour names 😂 I don’t know the details but apparently babies’ visual cortexes are still developing and bright colours are easier for them to tell apart. I think having a variety of colours in their environment somehow helps their visual sense to develop well but maybe fact check that! But that aside, bright colours are more attention grabbing so if a child’s toys are colourful it can help them focus on those activities (and will hopefully make other people’s belongings less interesting by comparison). They also create associations with colours just like we do which can help them learn about all kinds of other things!!! From apples to emotions. There’s a reason students don’t usually highlight or colour code notes in different shades of beige or grey 🤣
We lost all of our decorations this year due to an accident and we let our kids pick out what we got to replace them. I’ll never get rid of what they picked out-it’s all different colors and themes and it’s perfect. They decorated our tree, everything in one lump at the bottom. The stocking ranged from unicorn flippy sequin to super heroes that I hand embroidered with our names. We had our pellet stove going and hot cocoa and decorated sugar cookies. It’s one memory I’ll never forget and I hope they treasure it as well.
@@90mama141 Aww (๑•ᴗ•๑)♡ Thankfully there are ppl who don't let social media control every aspect of their life and make it bland and totally colourless and only fitting into 1 aesthetic, hallelujah 🙌
Wow! Good point!!! That mother is super manipulative, that slid right by me. Omg, that should have been the very first thought. A toddler is going to put all of their toys in their mouth, especially when they start teething
I came here looking for this comment. Who on earth would give their kids something spray painted to play with? If this gift is for her toddler, which it looks like it is, you know those are going into that kid's mouth, it's getting on their hands, and they're putting their hands in their mouth. Yay! Let's poison our kids for the sake of a beige Christmas - sarcasm...
@@jenniferallen8699 Let's be honest most of these moms are probably gonna be exposed as either cheating on their husbands, abusing their kids or both. That kid is screwed either way.
I'm already not a fan of Christmas, but if my mother decorated our house like this I genuinely don't think I could stay sane. Just looking at some of these people's houses makes me start to feel depressed. Everything is so lifeless like a hospital room, I feel so bad for these poor kids.
@@EeveelutionStorm Honestly. Not to seem like I'm bragging but I had a mostly good childhood despite being poor and my house has always been very colorful and maximalist (my parents are hippies lmao), and yet I still turned out to have depression due to circumstances that were completely out of my parents' control. I can't even imagine how much worse off I would have been if I grew up in this kind of environment, since children literally need to be exposed to bright and contrasting colors in their early years in order for their brains to develop properly 😓
Imo. The baige Christmas are FINE. I kinda love them. But not with your family unless they are comfortable. Or keep the style away from the ones who don’t. (Children)
I’m a 24 year old mom and I can tell you right now, we have Christmas spirit in our home. Give me all the reds, greens, and multicolor Christmas lights!!!
*WTF is the point of decorating for Christmas if theres NO color involved......IDK but these Mama's need to seek professional help, especially the ones whose Instagram feed has to match the aesthetics to the point where they're spray painting their kids toys. I quite literally just watched that clip several days ago. THIS would NOT fly in my home 🤦🏻♀️*
They dont need to seek help. Why do yall care so much if it doesnt affect you. I only found ONE commrnt that agreed with me. Everyone else was so self-centered.
@@americanified101No one is being self-centered. The mom is. The fact you can’t find more than one person to agree with you might just be a tell tale sign that you’re wrong and most likely just like the terrible mom in this video 🙃
@@americanified101 cause kids need mental stimulation. They need different shapes and colors to spark their minds. Its why kids need physical toys and interactive toys rather than electronics and TV interactions when their younger
Honestly the diy yarn wrapping would have been so cool if they had actually used colors. Like imagine a bunch of pastel Christmas yarn wrapped balls 🥹🙏🏼❤️
The first video of the Christmas tree honestly reminded me of that one Lorax scene where the mother changed the new tree outside into different colors 💀
Not only that but psychological studies have found that color can influence mood and behavior, stimulate the brain and body, and even affect children's health. Also brightly colored toys help babies develop their eyesight.
My mom is a sad beige mom and I can confirm I feel lifeless and full every Christmas 😁👍✨ (The worst part is that she isn’t even a millennial she’s Gen X 😭😭😭)
6:45 I SWORE was Drama Kween talking. I had to turn around and was like I thought I was watching Hayley The sibling likeness is STRONG with you two lol
Right, as a book reader I only rip out useless pages (like the extra pages, of the next book that I already have, a sneak peak if you know what I mean?)
I'd be concerned about toddlers chewing on the kids tree toy and absorbing the paint. The mother went outside to spray paint the tree and toys but has the toy tree for the kid and covered in the spray paint...
I always have to hand it to my sisters cuz they like to go crazy with the colorful Christmas decorations every year. Y’all should see the last REALLY good Christmas setup we had. Pretty sure I still have a picture of it too lol.
last month, i was invited to a xmas/cast party by one of the actresses from a production i worked in as part of costuming crew. when i went inside it felt like such a breath of fresh air because unlike the sad beige xmas decor at my mom's and my relatives' houses, the actress's house was decorated with so much colour and glitter and shine!! another crew member who was also invited said, and i quote, "this house looks and feels like xmas". i know it passed already, but sad beige xmas has gone too far.
She’s playing w her daughter’s toys instead of letting the baby hang up the ornaments herself. The tree helps build motor skills FOR TODDLERS not their weirdo moms
She also used regular spray paint that she didn't even coat over with a clear non toxic laque or anything so the toy is now also toxic and harmful for the kid to touch! Which considering toddlers put anything in their mouth is not only just absolutely horrifying but also defeats the whole point of the toy!!!!
During Christmas, what brings me the most joy is remembering all of the memories of my tacky ornaments that are a million different colors and materials, and all of the old decorations my grandma and parents have kept for years. I got to read a little old note my grandma wrote in her decorations on a bright pink notecard. I just feel like these kids won’t have that kind of joy that comes with the colors of Christmas that I have gotten to enjoy for years
I once passed an aisle in a store, and found the entire rack with beige decorations. They were letters, animal figures, min fake plants and the like. They were all beige, but here's the thing. They were also made of _wood_ , and a single brush with my finger told me they were made to be painted on. And what did the aisle next to that contained? Paint. Semi-related to the video, but I really wanted to share this little anecdote.
I feel like you saying which one would you sit at Christmas day is basically the barbie shoe moment, the ones who want the festive are being forced to the beige world 😂
They take "I'm dreaming of a white Christmas" way too literally and to a whole new level. I don't really care UNLESS they have kids. Like if you want to beige your Xmas go for it but don't do it to your kids!!! My mom always made us have the white lights and fancy done up tree so now that I have a little one she got to pick and of COURSE picked the colorful lights that my mom always deemed tacky. DONT BE THAT MUM lol
8:28 you see that frosted tree in the background? I’ve had them up since Christmas in my room. It’s July now. Not a single person said “ Why do you have Christmas decorations up in July” cause they don’t look like them!!
I have to give credit to my godmother and my aunt because they go all out for Christmas, their homes look like beautiful Christmas villages or stores lol with the traditional rich and beautiful Christmas colors. They let their Christmas cheer out right after thanksgiving and there is no stopping them 😅 decorations don’t come down until the second week of January as per family tradition. I mean… it’s ok if you want to try a theme or color scheme for Christmas but don’t banish all colors from your home, it’s just like someone pointed out going too neutral can make a home look dead and uninviting if you don’t play with the scheme correctly. Oh and that baby toy was sad AF, kids need color in their life don’t ruin it for them just because you want a certain look in your home. My mom always let me play with funky colored toys or let me pick the oddest outfit color combinations imaginable when I was a kid, I’ve got photos of it 😂much to my embarrassment but my mom said that being cute and funky is the best part of being a kid. Happy Holidays everyone!
I literally use the lights and ornaments that my grandparents (both passed away) and my parents have passed down to me until they are COMPLETELY unusable lol same with our pre-lit tree. Once the lights die, we simply put lights on the tree over the dead ones haha!
i hope who evers reading this has a wonderful night!! also yes it makes me SO sad like when i was a kid christmas was colorful and magical..... its really depressing
I actually love beige and soft dusty colours, but I can't imagine having white and beige only for Christmas... I only had silver, gold and blue for my Christmas tree these past couple years but this year I had to add red and even more green to the decor around it, it's the best I've ever done so far. Christmas is the most fun for decorating and I have so many good memories attached to them as a kid growing up. This style will not be memorable for their children. My mom has so many sentimental ornaments, she has no room for plain balls for her huge tree, it's timeless and full of colour. I love it so much and can't wait until I have enough of my own special ornaments to make up a whole tree too. I started to notice more of these diy moms have such boring plain houses, almost too perfect and I can't stand that look. I wonder what they put their husbands and kids through in trying to achieve their aesthetic. I'm all for aesthetic but this is ridiculous. Also, surely it's not safe to spray paint toys?
When that first lady was changing the colors of the lifeless tree, I genuinely thought of that one scene in The Lorax movie with the Oak-a-matic (That one disco tree)
That tree is like a worse version of those silver trees that rotate on a lazy Suzan. They too change color & at least look like a real tree. Honestly, I think those trees are fun & retro. I think it being outdated adds to the sentiment of appreciating family if it reminds you of your older relatives. Kitsch, quite possibly, but it’s fun & playful, much like how people usually romanticize the 60s
9:30 omg my jaw is on the floor even as an adult I love those and my mom was big on holidays so she collected a bunch of those. My heart sank as she DEFILED EVERY. SINGLE. BEAUTIFUL .HOUSE
I don’t know if these ladies just haven’t heard of it or something, but there is a box of multiple baubles that are clear and empty and you can paint it and do whatever you want with it instead of ruining other already colored ones. (My family would use them to make silly little decorations and memories)
Guess the mom hasn't realized spray painting plastic is poison to a child. Plastic is bad enough but the chemicals in paint? Wooeee how to have DCS involved in 30 seconds!
Bright colors stress me out, so I never liked traditional Christmas decor. However, it's the only time of year I will put SOME red decor in my space. But I do prefer neutrals and earth tones ✨️🌿
7:12 the thing that pisses me off is the fact that she destroyed a book that somebody took time and effort to write probably months pepole should NOT be doing this to books they could be using blank paper or just string
This beige trend is kinda unsettling, but you have to wonder after a certain point if these sorts of moms also continue doing it because they know they will be hated for doing it. Hate is free publicity! Post videos of bright, pretty DIYs to combat it and they’ll lose publicity (or get eaten by the algorithm).
Stop that’s so cute, in my family we don’t celebrate Christmas because of religious beliefs/reasons but we have this holiday called “Ramadan” and we have decor from 10 years ago
The one spray painting the little village buildings made me audibly gasp in horror and disgust; we had similar ones when I was a kid (ceramic, not plastic) and I looked forward to putting them out on display every year because of how beautiful they were! They made our living room look even more alive with the townspeople figures and all the color. The color, especially! If someone came along and spray painted those buildings and figures, I would make sure they’d never have use of their hands ever again.
Oh look, an extremely self-centered mom who possesses one of the worst qualities a mom could possibly possess thus, in my opinion, making her not an actual mom. Only biologically, which is not enough.
You're the one thats being self-centered and narcissistic. Let the mom live her life. This has nothing to do with you, and there is no problem with trying something new.
@@americanified101hey! they’re actually right. the moms are decorating it to look rich and aesthetic, they didnt think about the safety and development of the child (lack of colour & toxic chemicals from paints)
@@americanified101The issue is that she's forcing her monochrome aesthetic choices onto her husband, which I suppose could be okay if the husband is supportive/accepting,and her child, which is not.
I'll take Christmas bright colors/lights over this dull dead biege look. Are they taking after Kim Kardashians everything beige house? The same one that her own kids hate. North makes fun of how dull the place is. That kid is speaking truth. This is a joyless horrible trend. Shows no Christmas spirit. No Joy, no life.
Do not worry, let time do it's thing, those under stimulated toddler beige minds are gonna be rebellious NEON teenagers. I grew up in a 90s pastel pink/gray/dull teal house and at 37 I'm still craving color.
I'm not into the whole neutral fad, Ive always liked more neutral tones, so not a fad for me. Some of these women, though, take it way too far 😣 . But when it's done right, with a splash of color here and there, it's actually nice. I'm just never been into the whole bright, colorful glittery look,it's tacky to me, just like this look is tacky to you. It's just human nature I guess. Lol.
7:46 yeah no. I’ve been repping the gothic aesthetic for about four years now, and I’m not even a LITTLE sick of it. The detailed glasswork, the color palette, the castle-like Victorian homes-I just adore it. I feel like, to an extent, it’s okay to participate in trends to find what you like. I participated in the egirl trend, and that evolved into something else entirely. After finding your specific aesthetic, you’ll never have the urge to participate in trends again, and I never do. It’s a beautiful thing :))
My mom decorates like a beast for every season and I’m proud to say she LOVES color! Christmas is my favorite season she decorates bc it’s so colorful and festive
Ik I’m watching this midsummer, but my family will always pick out a new, colorful, unique ornament for our tree before Christmas, as a tradition. Because it looks nice
