Akatsuki is a spacecraft of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA). Akatsuki, also known as Planet-C or Venus Climate Orbiter (VCO), was launched into space on May 20, 2010. Akatsuki's main goal is to study the atmosphere of Venus, including the phenomena such as clouds, wind, and other weather conditions on this planet. This is an important part of Japan's efforts to explore and research planets in the Solar System.
