My only issue with the black stars is that the coach needs to bring in his own assistants. All those so called assistants are not helping him. Who has been recommending Ofori as first choice GK?? He is the 3rd choice at his club and hasn't played a game since 2022. All the goals we conceded with the exception of the Mozambique penalty are saves an active GK playing regularly will make. And I had been saying this since the world cup qualifiers. How is a 3rd choice GK selected over Zigi who is playing regularly for his club in Switzerland and are 2nd in the Swiss premier league??? We have a solid team but these little decisions are costing us. Its so crucial for GKs to play regularly. Go back and watch all our games, simple things for a GK and Ofori couldn't do them. Because he has been sitting on the bench for over a year.
I had mentioned the same thing to Gary Al-Smith that it doesn't make sense that Hughton doesn't have his own assistant coaching staff helping. That shouldn't happen at a top level for NT or club team. The FA need to be dismantled and restructured with football people leading, i.e. former players and coaches like Cameroon has or Senegal. The ones running and ruining it are businessmen and fools that undermine the progress.

"The people who are supposed to be changed are the ones who are going to change others," meaning, it's an administrative problem. The Blackstars team administration should be dissolved.plus we need to furnish our local league, make it lucrative and select locally trained players and a small blend of the foreign based players for all our tournaments friendly and big games. The following are my personal observations about the black stars: 1. The state of all our national teams is very bad with the exception of black queens. So we shouldn't look at the performance of the black stars only. The cause is the GFA since they don't give us a top class coach. 2. There's much improvement in African Football now but because the black stars have been playing with the heart of Ghanaians we don't see it. Just the ongoing AFCON tournament is a clear evidence. All the big countries in Africa are struggling playing with the lower teams. 3. Black stars lack concentration. I've noticed this from the last AFCON at Cameroun throughout the world cup, qualification matches and up to the ongoing AFCON at Ivory coast. GFA should get a psychologist for them. 4. The GFA and almost the past coaches don't have respect for the guys who are playing in our local league since they don't give them the chance to prove what they can also offer to help the black stars. They always invite them to prevent Ghanaians from questioning them. 5. GFA should employe a top class coach to handle the black stars since Individually the boys are talented. Else age will catch up with them without they doing nothing for the nation. What a shameful performance from Black Stars @ AFCON 2023???? 😢😢😢
Saddick, the structure of the FA must change and it is high time. This is what sports journalists must champion apart from complaining on their media platforms. Sports journalists must petition the government to get involved in the FA's affairs. The country is one big stakeholder of the national teams. The idea that FIFA frowns on government involvement in football management isn't entirely true. There are ways around it with the appropriate to FIFA. You guys must go beyond the media work as representatives of the football-loving Ghanaian.
