In this video we use a piece of clear acrylic to help demonstrate how saddle stitch works and is different from other sewing techniques. (Apologies for the weird audio in the middle!)
Thank you so much you I’m a visual person and this helps me so much I try saddle Stich yesterday and it came out horrible, one thing I learned it’s make your Stich home big enough my needle tread came off more then once but it was my first pouch.practice.practice.👍🏻from Germany!
I really enjoyed your video. I was confident enough to try and succeed at making a leather weight bag to hold small projects while tooling. I'm going to take the next step at making a credit card wallet now that I understand what's actually going on with this style of stitching. Thank You for Your Time and Help with this!!
It's about time that I found a tutorial using two different colored threads for clarity!!! I was thinking that SOMEONE would at least have enough sense to use colored felt tip markers on the threads , just behind the needles, but YOUR idea is even better. And THEN you go ahead with the clear acrylic block! Terrific! Thanks!
I routinely look for resources like this to share in my Akweks LeatherSmiths and Moscow LeatherSmiths Facebook groups and, eventually, on my web page. The use of the plexiglass and clear instructions make this is one of the best saddle stitching tutorials out there.
This is all new stuff to me. I never even heard of saddle stitching until 5 minutes before I found this video. I found this after seeing an add for a "Speedy Stitcher" . The comments mentioned the "saddle stitch" and here I am. Thank you for the thorough and practical demonstration. After watching your video, I feel like I could start practicing to do this without a lot of problem. Regards
Thank you very much for doing this. I'm planing to do some leatherworking and wanted to learn more about the saddle stitch. Showing it inside as well as on the sidesmade it much easier to see what was going on.
This is the only tutorial that I thoroughly understood, the coloured thread and acrylic template made it easy to actually understand what im trying to do, thank you, subbed!
Thank you so much for this video. I've been struggling with this stitch. Being able to actually see it made all the difference. Best line of stitching I have done 5 minutes after watching your video.
Thanks for this video it helps a lot. I found you from Alec Steeles channel and am wanting to make a knife and than make a sheath for it, thanks for all the info!
Great video! Using the plexi was a great way of showing a clear technique! I am just getting into leather works. What size needles and thread do you recommend for pricking irons. I can't seem to find a clear video on this topic. Thanks for any advice in advance! Al
Yes.... OH YES! Now I get it. I was thinking of using a transparent medium like that and practicing to get it right, but your tutorial did it for me. Now to get on with it and stitch up my pocket holster for my mouse gun.... (I was stationed at RAF Bentwaters from '70-'74. Both children born there in Merry Old. Wife and I greatly miss the fish 'n chips....)
Good video but why do you speak and move slow as a TURTLE??? Makes a 4 minute video a 14 minute waste of time. Skip to 3:00 when he FINALLY manages to get to the point.
