Sade has said it is so painful to relive the emotions of all of these songs, which is why she doesn't tour very often. This song closes every show, and it is the bands masterpiece. This particular version is the best! She tore the roof off the place!

This is what music sounds like when the singer and band have become seasoned and more in sync and behaving as one unit. Timing and rythem on point. Passion and heat in the air and sound. Sade is still beautiful like a fine wine aged to perfection.

What I appreciate, and it paid off for the singer here, is that when she first signed she wouldn't do it without the band. Considering the musicians' input, I don't think the singer would have been as much of a satisfying success without them. Note: I am deliberately referring to the members generically.

Actually, seasoned has a little to do with it if you go back and listen to her 1985 rendition at live aid, it is absolute perfection with both the the band and her vocals.. her body language was a little more robotic, but the overall sound was as good if not cleaner.

I think this is better than the records... Sade pulled out all the stops and belted higher and nailed head voice notes higher than anything we had heard on the studio albums. She's absolutely fantastic!

This performance is even better than the originals from 1985, sometimes you see performances get stale because the artist gets tired of the source material, but she brought more life into it over the years! Maybe more of an emotional connection due to loss, and connects more with the lyrics as a result. That aside, the decreased tempo allows for more articulation of her voice. Chills.

And, tell me, who else can pull of walking out onstage in slacks and a blouse that look like they are right off the J. Crew rack and blow you away like that?! I think what puts her a notch about every other female artist out there right now (with the exception of Celine Dion) is that Sade is a singer who entertains you will her voice(and band) not an entertainer who just happens to sing. What's funny is that her live show is all about her voice and her band... not her. LOVE HER!!!! Make no mistake sade is no diva that word too small too describe her. She is more like a Godess Angel whos voice is harmonies or melodies musical phrases right out of Heaven its self. You are definitely correct with your statement. Sade is pretty much their own genre; no one can be compared to Sade herself, or the band. The music is spiritual; that's why it is so powerful; even Beyonce as huge as she is musically will bow down to Sade. The power is that Sade's music is "TIMELESS". Sade will be loved by our great, great, great grand children and their great grand children thereafter 1,000 years from now and later. "Sade is a music band with songs that have no expiration date."

I fucking love her voice! I honestly can't watch a cover of this song. I have to hear her singing it everytime the music plays. love Sade. her voice is like dark velvet. So smooth, but with just the right amount of rasp.

This is just magnificent and is my favourite version, and the band is just superb; which leaves only one issue to address.
