The same Kuru known as Kaurava in the story By the way. This age dates from 600-300 BCE. If you go back further, you'll get Vedic age when Aryans came in india (no use of Iron) still ageing between 1500-500 BCE. Go back further you'll get Harappa civilization dating 2600-1900 BCE which is entirely different civilization. But still we haven't reached Mahabharata age. Now 500 years before Harappa as mentioned in the epic, Mahabharata happened, don't even talk about Iron, people didn't even use any metal, and Mahabharata was fought with iron swords and stuffs. Whatever I just said can be checked in history books. History is not narrated by 1 person, it's cross-checked by many sources including archaeological and literary in a scientific way.
