To clarify, these basses are not chambered, they are just built with Okoume which keeps them lightweight while providing a balanced tonal resonance. Apologies for the confusion.
These Metro Express basses come with two different necks: roasted maple or Maduro (aka Pau Ferro). I don't believe Rosewood is an option, at least per Sadowsky's website. They are made in China, but the quality is really good for a lower end Sadowsky. I own the PJ 5 string in Metallic Sage Green with the roasted maple neck. I love my Fenders, but I can put this Sadowsky up against them and run very close in tone and looks. I would be curious to see a Sire and Sadowsky show down video.
Thanks Lee & Cici, cool review & nice basses ! Shoot out definitely please. I'm always curious to hear the Jaco tone on anything Jazz bassed. Good to see you both on here again.
We've been made aware of some confusion regarding the specs of each bass so we will be correcting the listings and clarifying any miscommunication asap. Please bear with us for the time being as we work to correct this! Thanks for watching! :D
The first time I heard about Sadowskys was from Jason Newstead playing then towards his final days in Metallica, they’re such cool basses and sound absolutely awesome as well
I miss my Ibanez RS-24 that had P/J pickups and I really like the MetroExpress basses that I've seen on RU-vid!!!! I may have to get a P/J 5!!! The Sadowsky/Warwick partnership was a genius move!!! Great demos!!!
I've been a Sadowsky NYC player for years now, the way they sit in a mix is just insane. I first heard of them from Jason Newsted in the mid 90's and he coined the term at the time "Fender on Steroids" and he was exactly right. Very versatile and we see them played anywhere from Jazz, Country, to Metal music. That mid range punch is where they shine. Roger did a phenomenal job with his preamp. \m/ I have never played or owned a MetroLine series but they are fine instruments as shown here and seems the quality for the line remains even after Roger signed the mfg deal.
Why can't Anderton's do even the most basic research on gear they're reviewing. Can't even pronounce it properly, they're not chambered, they've been made in the far east for several years now, they have other lines in between the SMX and custom shop, etc. I had to stop watching because it was so bad.
These Basses are NOT new. The MetroExpress Line under "control" of Warwick was started already in 2020. The first versions were no success at all and in Germany they were sold for less than 500 Euros since August 2023. Now the line was relaunched with some "upgrades". To be honest, I am a little disappointed. I really like your channel, but this is poor.
