Here's another fretless reimagining that I decided to do today. And yes, the original was not recorded on a fretless, contrary to urban legend. In fact, most of the music on the first three Sadus albums was recorded on fretted bass. The only fretless part to my knowledge is the bass solo in "Echoes of Forever".
All of my dorky fact sharing aside, I thought it would be sick to give this one another shot. Despite the later Sadus stuff being more "technical", I actually have an easier time playing along to those than to a song like this one. It's such full speed ahead, and you really have to zone in on the recording in order to keep with it. It's a true test of stamina, tightness, and technical riff precision all at once. Even tougher to take that and put it onto fretless bass, with all those chords added and so on!
But I did it, and I hope folks enjoy it. Playing Sadus is always a blast for me, and I feel right at home doing it, but properly challenged as well. I tried to get every riff right note wise, and capture every detail that Steve does, as always. I try my best. This music continues to be my guiding light!
Hope everyone who sees this enjoys!
