Safari in Tanzania (Tarangire and Ngorongoro) 

Contrary to the wide-spread pictures showing people close to animals on safaris, animals are actually pretty hard to see and to be near them. At least in environments that do care about wildlife preservation (such is Tanzania). Therefore, either bring the powerful optical equipment with you or go somewhere else for the wanted (and often unethical) closeness to animals.
However, if you are lucky and obey the rules, animals can come pretty close to your vehicle also here.
