This was a good vid I’m 6’2 280~ LBS and I been trying to see how it looks on a bigger guy cause those actual plate carrier look silly on me squeezing my bell out and too high up. This looks like it will give the sharp look. With a belt & uniform set up.
How long does it take to come in once the order is placed. I saw 6-8 weeks but could be up to 12. Just wondering what you’re seeing for 2023. About to order one
As of today March 10th, 2023 - Safariland is shipping external carriers in 10 weeks. We never know how the tides ebb and flow in the manufacturing facility, but that's the current timeframe we've been seeing.
The Oregon city has molle webbing all the way up to the chest/shoulder yoke. The Bothell only has 3 rows of webbing on the bottom of the vest. The Bothell builds in a couple extra open top pockets above the molle, but bellow the chest yoke for some pens on the left and a notepad on the right. Finally the Bothell has 2 vertical zippered pockets across from each other on both sizes of the center zipper. The Bothell Legacy has these zippered pockets at the chest level, and the Bothell 2.0 has these pockets at the waist level, which takes away 1 segment of molle webbing. Sidenote: The 2.0 version is specifically made for new 2.0 Safariland body armor panels and their unique cut. Thanks for the question!
We recommend the Safariland soft ballistics in level 2 or 3A and we sell them on our website or you can contact someone in person at our store in Bozeman, MT 406-624-0010. On the Oregon City carrier, the front and back have a zipper at the bottom where the soft panels can be put inside. The protection ends at about the collar bone, but the Oregon City carrier continues over the shoulder to support the weight of the full vest from up high.
These carriers are built around your soft ballistic panels as well as your body. The easiest way to figure out the right size is to fill out our vest panel measurement form and email it in with your Oregon City order.
