Before you waste your time like I did, the max you can transfer with the free version is 5 APPS and only 2 GB. Which is basically nothing.

Keep in mind that the free version only allows you to Migrate 2 GB of data and 5 programs for free.

Never used this method. I always install to an alternate drive unless it requires "C". I have usually just copied over to another drive and changed the drive path but some programs have a problem with that.

Me too, I copied the program over but it had addon programs attached and they would not work. I've had programs where the installer defaults to C: ProgramFiles (x86) and been advised not to install there by other people. Also knew someone who filled his drive up with games and had a spare dirve almost empty because he didn't know how to change it on the install.

If you can't afford to buy a larger c drive SSD, these types of tools may be better than nothing. If you need to migrate data, seriously, save up for a larger boot SSD and migrate to that.

According to their FAQ, "The Free version can transfer 2 apps and 500 MB data but cannot transfer the accounts. The Trial version can show you what exact things you are able to transfer but requires a license to execute a transfer". Didn't you do more than two programs, even though it wasn't the full version? Update: I see someone else mentioning 5 programs, so maybe the FAQ is wrong? Update 2: Ok, have found somewhere else where it says "Transfer 5 programs (Line, WhatsApp, Zoom, etc.)"

Don't waste your time, this only allows to transfer 2G. otherwise you need to upgrade and pay

I prefer to do it my own way via Command prompt, instead of Third-party pay for privileges. That you can do for free! if you are wiling to educate your-self. Sadly Mr Brian! some people would rather waste money & not feed there brains knowledge. Would be nice, for your good self to show the free ways maybe? 🖖👍

hmmm?? I tried like you said but it is not free. The EaseUS program will not migrate anything for free they want me to pay for upgrade. The program will not migrate even 1 app for free. Am I doing something wrong??

can you not use SYMLINK to move the folders and leave a SYMLINK shortcut on the C drive? I have done this with bluestacks and put the data VDI on my SSD external drive.

Great video Brian! When I am working on older PC's for factories, such as Windows XP. I use a program called Zinstall. You have to pay for it. It will transfer all data and programs. The catch is, that non of the programs are activated. You will need product keys and such to activate them. Just thought I would throw that out there. Cheers.

This is a good method however I am concerned about runtime errors with directory dependencies ignored by this process but I can understand why someone would want to try this to avoid preferences the users have already have setup and re activated and or downloading or re installing everything all over again I am going to start using this program just to see how much trouble it will create and besides I have the full version so we will see

Might as well just reinstall, get fresh updates & clean install for the apps, with gen 4 m.2 to sata 3 ssd or vice versa has 500GB/s speeds, much easier to uninstall and reinstall. I am using my 240gb as a boot drive with most normal apps I still have 144GB free on win 11

whenever I went to "migrate apps", it gives me an error: no available disk found. Please connect another storage device and try again.... my drive is formatted and cleaned.. why wont it let me transfer?

Thanks, Jim for that Tip My Main Drive which is C and is always full in the red, and that is a 1 tb m.2 ssd drive, and I tried Windirstat to try to find out why! with no such luck with 1 gb free on my main drive isn't good, when my system is upto drive N now with lot's of storage I will give that a try! unlike alot of other people I Do Backups with Macrium Reflect something is causing this issue in win11 pro and I cannot find out what it is

Just tried this - it no longer works as in your video. Now it's a free trial and as you click on some programs in Disc "C" to move to "D" it repeatedly informed me that I exceeded the zise limit in the free trial. Uninstalled it

How do I switch C and D drives or merge both drives into C using command prompt? After the last windows 10 update somehow C and D drives were switched so now Windows cannot boot up because it is trying to boot from C drive Volume 1 which is the Recovery drive but my Windows is now on D drive volume 0. I've tried selecting C drive in command prompt booting from USB drive and assigning it a different letter and Diskpart says that it successfully assigned the letter but when I go to list volume it still has Recovery listed as C and main partition listed as D. For some reason it is refusing to change C drive to something else even though it says that it is changed. All partitions are listed as healthy. Bootrec /scanos = 0 total identified windows installations. How do I reverse those 2 for good in command prompt? I haven't been able to find a good article or video on it.

I have the lifetime pro version and been using it for years between my computers at home. If I need to swap a drive or just move programs from one drive to another it is quick and easy. Helps to manage the different computers that I have.

What if you want programs that are stored on a C drive that will no longer boot? The files are still there, but I was unsuccessful in doing a system restore or any of the other troubleshooting methods. Would I be able to attach this m.2 that contains the C drive from my laptop PC (the one that won't boot), and attach it externally to transfer the programs to another PC?

I usually shutdown app, make a new directory, move files and then replace the original directory with a junction (mklink /j). Short of some stupid total uninstall and reinstall that removes that root directory it works. It even works for large directories in your home drive which are also a pain to move. I wouldn't move the root home directory or some apps that are core to windows.

One advantage of a smaller c: drive or partition is easier and smaller system image backups.

@@Britec09 I'm sorry, don't mean to spam you. I have a bone in this so that's maybe why I take it so hard. - I make funscripts that take me over 100 hours to create. I have some free ones. When I go to some shady websites and read what ppl post there. They feel ENTITLED to have my work for free! Do you know how many copies I have to sell at $2 a pop to even get to minimum wage equivalent? (this is not my main source of income, don't worry) They even go as far as embedding the script into images so they can share them on on any forum or website. If you wonder how. Take an image, rename it to .zip. open the zip file and add a file to it. rename the image back to it's original extension.

Nup. Not used this method, but it does look interesting. I don't have a second hard drive in my main PC, although I am getting one, and it will be used as a hard drive for Linux Mint. I probably would not need to do this sort of thing on a regular basis anyway, but great tutorial nonetheless 👍
