I will be seeing them for the first time on October 17th, 2024 at the Acadia Theater in St. Charles, Illinois. I’ve been wanting to see them live for years and now they’re playing a show in the Midwest within a couple of hours of my home in Milwaukee Wisconsin! I just wish my Wife was still here on Earth to experience it with me.
I have followed Saga since their first album…there is no other rock band with their personality…over the years they have maintained respect for their ideas…their sound is unique and that led them to success…thanks for sharing this gem🙏👏🏻 👏🏻👏🏻
Saga is (with Rush) the thin red line of my life. Especially the first 10 albums. Ian Crighton is with his unique sound one of my alltime favourite guitarists. I love this band!!
40 YEARS AGO i GOT THE 'HEADS OR TALES' CASSETTE TAPE BY THIS INCREDIBLE BAND AND i JUST LOVED IT, WITH NO INTERNET AND NO MONEY IT WAS REALLY DIFFICULT TO TRACK AND GET AHOLD OF THEIR OTHER WORKS. I REALLY REGRET HAVING MISSED ALL OF THIS FOR 40 YEARS. NOW AS A SOON TO BE 57 I WILL ENJOY LISTENING TO ALL OF THEIR RECORDINGS AND ENJOY REDISCOVERING THESE FINE MUSICIANS. THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR POSTING THIS.
Every freakin element of ‘Wind Him Up’ is just masterful!!! 49:09 Keyboards, guitar, drumming, vocals. So glad to watch the effort they still put behind delivering this song in concert over all these years!
WOW! Some of these songs I haven't heard in 30 years. I forgot how incredible they are. Ian is a fantastic guitar player. Such a clean picking hand. The singer has not aged a day in 40 years. Truly freaks of nature!
I can not finish the video stop to cry with all my heart 💔 so many memories especially my mother always she like heard SAGA with my now I herald with my family
@@kloboklonz9589 ummmmm no sorry 😐 YES is better and so is Dream Theater and Coheed and Cambria and Genesis and RUSH .. there are plenty of better progressive groups
Saga ist für mich einer der allermeist unterschätzten Bands. Manche Lieder sind die reinsten Symphonien. Sämtliche Lieder sind dermaßen variantenreich. Ich war 1982 in einem Konzert. Danke dafür!
I'm gonna go ahead and classify Saga as their own genre! There is SAGA...and then there's everyone else. They are singular. Inimitable. It's made me a fan for over 40 years.
The first time i saw this band they were at the picadilly tube in Toronto. They called themselves Pockets and changed to Saga when their first album came out.I loved their music over the yrs i have seen them at least 20 times. They were really big in the eighties when they played Maple Leaf Gardens.
Felicitaciones a tan progresiva banda me gusta ese estilo del SAGA tengo años alimentando mis neuronas con sus temas épicos de gran alcance es como viajar a un mundo de sonidos especial.
Has ANYONE stood the test of time like Sadler & the band, their performance as captivating today as when I played their Worlds Apart album in 1981. Different and better with Sadlers vocals not dropping off a whit. Rare rare air Michael!
These are my dudes...more than just a band, but happy chapters of my life . I have seen them play from Canada to the Dominican Republic!!! No regrets!! Thanks for the memories! HAPPY BIRTHDAY MICHAEL SADLER!!!
I wish I could have seen these guys…they’re my absolute favorite band, but I live in the U.S and they probably won’t come here again. I was born in the wrong decade…I’m only 16 and all the best bands don’t tour much or at all anymore.
Plus de 40 ans que je les écoute (ah la la ces pochettes de disque, ce solo de batterie) et c'est toujours un plaisir de les écouter. J'ai toujours pensé que ce groupe a toujours été sous-évalué, principalement en France.
@@knutnskar6796 Personally love Sadler's crowd relationships. He's a great entertainer / vocalist. This band is a powerhouse of Prog that sells to the regular crowd as well. Hope to see them before retirement, loved them since the 80s.
SAGA has stood the test of time even more so than Rush I've enjoyed their music since there first album back in 1978, I even had a poster from CBC radio Winnipeg of that album cover ,I find them much more interesting than Rush and lyrically much more profound and relatable, the full band is more diverse and more interesting than Rush ever was, Europeans agree with me on this as sales of SAGA proves it over there as well as the concerts there, I'm still listening to them as they are just as relevant as they were 45 years ago compared to today's music, it's a pleasure to keep listening to them and watching videos like this.
Saw Guitarist (Ian C)in band Kickback in the 70's when they played Yonge Station. He was amazing then and listening to him accompany the vocalist (MR Sadler) is really powerful musicianship. These guys remain young because they never sold out. Really enjoyed listening. I won't ever conform for anyone. You are the company you keep, Dear God.xo
Crazy…yet another band from the 70’s still kickin’ it in 2023. Saw them in ‘83, not having a clue I’d be watching them on my iPad on YT 40 years later.
