An Amazing Talented Person Sudhin DasGupta & till this date his Ever Green Talent is Very Very Badly Ignored & Neglected ! As a bengalee I feel very much ashamed of this !

Why does the name of R.D. Burman arises? Asha ji-s voice had been vastly used by Sudhin Dasgupta since a long period.

Agree to disagree!! What about: Apur Sansar, Aranyer Din Ratri, Hirak Rajar Deshe, Charulata, Akash Kusum, Baghini, Ghare-Baire, Devi, Ghare-Baire, Shakha Proshakha, Kapurush, Akash Kusum, Atonko, and so on.....

True - but Asha-R.D duo was far more popular than Asha-SudhinDashgupta. From 1960s to 1990s, RD Burman composed scores for 331 movies - mainly in the Hindi film industry as a composer, and did major work with Asha Bhosle (his wife) and Kishore Kumar, and scored many of the songs that made these singers famous.

Well, the blame should be directed to the director as well - Soumitra was brilliant in many of the Satyajit Ray's film beside the iconic 'Feluda' films.

@mullickp.......If soumitra is "kabla", how will you rate these films....Jhinder Bondi, Devdas, Apur sansar, Devi. Please be sensible....They all are well established in their own field, please show some respect. Bengali fill industry will not ever produce that kind of talent like they have.

We are both saying same things, but in different ways. Soumitra is a better actor and might not always click as a romantic hero the way UttamKumar did - but he was brilinat in many other roles - that's why many directors including Satyajit Ray favored him over UttamKumar. IMHO Soumitra is more realistic as a romantic hero coming from middle/lower-middle class bengali family.

Aare-- I am referring to and talking about "Bengali film song" obviously :) Sudhin babu didn't work in Hindi films.

well first of as a mature romantic hero he will fail. offcourse these are good acting movies but there is no versatility everywere kind of same either boca boca !! or serious pagol. Kind of famine. I likes kapurus satyajit roy roy used him proper way in diffrent of his movies. Uttam kumar is the best is everywhere. all kind of character i would never regard soumitra as masterpiece. He is good actor though and representation of a section of kabla bengali boy , dont worry I am part of i
