আমার প্রিয় শিল্পী সাগর সেন। দীর্ঘ 30 বছর যাবৎ মহান শিল্পীর কন্ঠে রবীন্দ্র সংগীত শুনে আসছি। শিল্পীর রেকর্ডিং দেখে আমি আপ্লুত। তাই প্রীতম সেনকে জানাই আমার আন্তরিক অভিনন্দন।
রবীন্দ্রনাথ ঠাকুর। শ্রদ্ধেয় কবি। আপনি কি শুনতে পান আপনার অমৃত সুরেলা বাণীগুলো কতটা প্রাণ পেয়েছে, কতটা সুর আর বাণীর সমন্বয় ঘটেছে প্রিয় শিল্পী সাগর সেন এর কণ্ঠে!
আমাদের দুর্ভাগ্য সাগর সেন অকালে ইহজগত ছেড়ে চলে গেছেন। কিন্তু রেখে গেছেন অজস্র গুণমুগ্ধ শ্রোতা যারা আজও নতমস্তকে তাঁকে স্মরণ করেন। তাঁর গায়কী অতি স্বতন্ত্র, কোমলতায় ভরপুর।
প্রীতম সেন কে ধন্যবাদ। এমন একটি গান লাইভ রেকর্ড করার জন্য। শিল্পির অনবদ্য জীবনী আমাদের অবহিত করুন। পরবর্তী যুগে এমন শিল্পির আর জন্ম হবে না। বরীন্দ্রনাথ একজনই, তেমনি রবীন্দ্র সংগীত পরিবেশন এর জন্য সাগর সেন একজনই। যেমন গীত, তেমন সুর, তেমমই গায়কী। সবমিলিয়ে উদাস হওয়ার মতোই।

রবীন্দ্র সঙ্গীত এতো সাবলীল ও অনবদ্য সুরে গাওয়া শুধুমাত্র সাগর সেনের পক্ষেই সম্ভব। যৌবনে মুগ্ধ হয়ে তার কিছু গান শুনছি কিন্ত শিল্পির সম্পর্কে জানতাম না। জানলাম যখন তখন শ্রদ্ধা,ভালোবাসায় আমার মস্তক অবনত হল কিন্ত তখন তিনি অনন্তের পথিক।
সাগর সেন আমার জীবনের শ্রেষ্ঠ শিল্পী,,,, রবীন্দ সংগীতের এইরকম শিল্পী হবে কি না আমার সন্ধেহ। ওনি সত্যি ই মনকে সুরের সাগরে ভাসিয়ে দেন,, তাই তিনি সাগর সেন।☺☺ ধন্যবাদ গানটি পোষ্ট করার জন্য"!
Where popularity is concerned, George Da is always a pioneer & may be followed by Hemanta Mukherjee, Sagar Sen etc. Anyhow all of them are adored by by us.
In my opinion Sagar Sen was the best male Rabindrasangeet singer after Hemantada and this includes the current male singers .Alas he did not live long enough to entertain us with his sweet melodious voice. He sang with so much emotion and passion, required to sing Rabindranath's song, not the boring,mechanical style so typical these days.
Whenever I watch this video i become speechless listener. I wonder how sweetly and beatufully Sagar Sen became merged with the words and melodies of Rabindranath's songs!

Sugar Sen pass away in the year 1982. His best one song is ami jana suna bis Karachi pan.one of my colleague pass comments with out sagar Sen Tagore song is not perfect.But now so many artist fill up the gaps. This is not my personal feed back? Tku nag
yes, certainly, he brings out the "gambhir" appeal of the raag Kannada that underlies this song. People who played tabla in his classes still remember him as a perfect gentleman. My heart aches when I recollect how his family life was destroyed by the feud between his son and daughter-in-law, and I believe his wife is now spending her days in some ashrama around the Rishikesh area. It is not my point to delve into the scandals of family life, but the sadness that these things happen.
Sagar Sen Is one of favorite singers. I'm one of those fortunate individuals who listened is live performances at the Rabindra Sadan on Pnochishe Baishakh. It hurts to hear about his family life. Thank you Didi for sharing this unfortunate news. It seems that he died of cancer in his early fifties. Really sad! - USA
