I've lived for nearly a half century almost in the shadow of perhaps the greatest water ride ever made; the legendary Timber Mountain Log Ride at Knott's Berry Farm. Drake, as someone who's ridden that ride more often than almost anyone, I will say your take is truly excellent; a full 9.5 out of 10.
Loving this new style of bundling themes/things together Jonny! Even it's just to catch up with the amount in your inbox, it's a great treat to see so many of these awesome creations in one video!
You are killing it Johnny! The new graphics + presentation format + enthusiasm is awesome! Have you considered starting a 'let's play' for planet coaster? You could come up with some intriguing theme for a waterpark or theme-park and do a weekly video. Obviously, show-casing is still your goto, but a series could give your fans something else to get hooked on Also, another cool idea would be a challenge for builders to create rides that would fit in certain theme-parks (i.e Disneyworld's different lands, Universal Studios, Busch Gardens, etc)
Only reason ive decided against let's plays. 3 years into Planet Coaster and I don't think the fans interest is there anymore for let's plays. Look at all the other let's play dedicated Planet coaster RU-vidrs, most of them have given up or moved on..... I did some let's plays last year for Candy land and they struggled to even get a thousand views. The amount of time invested for that little views doesn't seem worth while. However, I think the interest will be there for Planet Zoo, and hopefully that creates a surge of interest in Planet Coaster. So let's plays might make a comeback when Planet Zoo arrives! :D
I like it the Pirates Cove log flume :D, the "Chocolate Factory" is really nice, but the "chocolate river" has a small problem from the view of the raft, the chocolate river texture is kind of glitching on the raft. And here in Chile now is on Spring season jaja, keep in mind your videos is watched not only in north america or Europe ;)
"Pirate's Cove" is a near perfect example of how to make an engaging and thematically fun ride of that category. Lots of excellent visuals, triggered events, animatronics, etc. The small issues I noticed were nothing ride breaking, but more placement oriented. Upon entering the first cavern, the pirate guy sitting on the walkway should have been either faced toward the riders or the skull, not away IMO. At the bottom of "Dead Man Falls" drop, you have a scene to the left with triggered events, yet you don't see them since the water splash fills the screen and most riders wouldn't be looking that direction because they'd be covering their face from the water. The treasure cavern isn't lit, so you can't see the captured spoils placed there and the cobra is faced sideways, away from threatening the riders. Lastly, same situation as "Dead Man Falls" with the last drop. You don't view the great details and gators in the water to the sides due to the big water splash in your face. As noted, these are just small things that don't harm the overall experience, but are noticeable, at least to me. IRL, no one is going to be looking down on the ride anyway, Jonny, so it look fine. :p "Sagewerk Log Flume" is well designed and fun with good visuals for a regular flume experience. I like the set pieces of camp sites and animatronics, though there should have been more static sets along the way like mine carts on a short track going into a tunnel, etc. The main lacking element is lantern lighting in the first two tunnels like done in the last one and possibly a gold or crystal cave at some point. There is mining going on, so gold would be good. Wasn't the most exciting ride, but still excellent nonetheless. "Chocolate Factory" theme is perfect choice for a water ride, but the river rapids float isn't. Being that it is supposed to be partially based on Willy Wonka, then why not use the jungle cruise boat instead for a more accurate experience? Also, the chocolate river texture layer is too high so that the ride float is below it, causing the car to appear half full of liquid the whole way. Idea wise, it was a decent first time creation, but needs more tweaking to be truly awesome.
Pirate’s cove needed some light in the treasure room area, and maybe Recolor the lights on the station sign, it was a bit to harsh. I did love the overall layout and design, hope to see more of your work later.
WOW ! That Pirates Cove was so cool and impressive, a lot of details everywhere ! Amazing ! Sagewerk was really nice too, more natural, a peaceful promenade on a mountain river, it remind me the Europa Park log flume in Germany. Really cool ! For the Chocolate Factory I love the ambiance, just like the Tim Burton's movie. But I'm not a big fan of the idea for the "chocolate river", the boats passing through this brown floor, not realistic. I understand the idea but I'm not a big fan of this. But of course it's subjective, only my opinion. Well done guys, these three creation was really cool ! And Jonny, I love your differents presentations for your channel, with the guest from Planet Coaster, or the animated ride title, really cool :)
FYI it's Schlitterbahn with the bahn sounding like bonbon and not ban, it is a great waterpark down in Texas if you ever get the opportunity to go but it is COLD water as the water is taken from a river.
Yeah. The contrast between the really hot summers here in Texas and the really cold river water takes some getting used to. Really good water park, though.
The only thing I'd say in "sagewerk" is that the dark sections transitioning back into daytime is pretty... harsh (?) on the eyes. Could use a more subtle transition maybe?
Yeet, nice video man, The decorations tho, wish I could build water rides as good as you, Jokes on you, I’m too broke to buy the game, jokes on you, I’m too broke to have a laptop
