On June 2nd, 2024, The Saginaw Spirit made history defeating The London Knights 4-3 with 21.7 seconds to go in the 3rd period to win their first Memorial Cup in franchise history & also becoming the first ever U.S. based OHL franchise to win the Memorial Cup.
