@@jaceimations I’m intrigued, this seems like a very bad idea (unless your absolutely loaded.) how many of the 12 do you still play? Or have played more than 5 times?
This video was the first episode of GameNight! I ever saw about a year ago. I'm catching up slowly but surely. Like I said in a previous comment, you are great inspiring people to play. I will send my best wishes to all in diferentes comments beginning with Dave. You are wonderfull to watch, always helping other players, always let them correct their mistakes for a better experience, always fun and helpful. I wanna emulate that in my gameplays with my family and friends. Thanks to all!!!
I’ve played this game many times and know it very well, yet still found it super interesting to listen to the explanation on how to play this game from start to finish!
Thanks all for the great play through. Just got this one and plan to play tomorrow - so Dave's instructions were very helpful. Plus - love Nikki's t-shirt - so perfect for the game - it really made me smile.
47:19 Aaaaaa, I had the same reaction as Dave when Nikki rolled another blue 4, "finger gunning"/pointing at my laptop screen and whatnot.. :P Really neat-looking board game, these GameNight episodes have been amazing for both showcasing and teaching stuff!
I just purchased this game yesterday and am looking forward to not only teaching everyone I know how to play but also play it with them. This game looks not only challenging but also a blast to play.
I just tried this game out this past weekend, with the solo play rules and really enjoyed it. My friends and I are going to play it together this weekend. Love seeing it hosted on your show this week! :)
...and Nikki should've had 5 points less, because in the beginning of the scoring Dave rotated her blue 3 to 6, which gave her 5 points for shade row :-P
ccampbell717 : Same here! Ontrack is supposed to deliver within the next hour (before 8 pm). I played it at my FLGS, and it was out of stock for so long! Can't wait to get it!
15:08 Dave: "The thing that's kinda fun about the game is to see everyone's individual method for how they pull the dice out of the bag." That doesn't say a lot for the game! :D :D
All this talk about how the game plays, and all I really want to know is whether her choice of top was intentional. I like playing to the game's theme. I once brought a plate of hexagonal crackers with themed toppings on them to a game of Settlers of Catan. 👍🏻
I play the solo game of this game and I find it very hard. The placing goes the same, but you add up the numbers on the round tracker and you have to beat that score. It is not easy to do. I love (like Lincon says) that more and more game have a solo.
At 43:50 Dave convinces Lincoln his best move is an illegal 6 (placed next to an existing 6). The dangers of cross-table advice combined with small dice and Dave's eyesight....
Actually I did not place next to an existing 6. I was making it so I would not be able to place a six as printed on the card without using the tools which I did on a later turn.
\Great game! Aaron and Nicky in this playthrough are looking slick! Very handsome! I Mind you, I am not a fashion guy but I love Aaron's shirt! :D Cheers guys!
Lincoln, love the Wyld Stallyns jersey from Geeky Jerseys. I have one of their Miskatonic University ones. Also, really liked the game prints in the background of the intro. Did you have those specially made or are they available somewhere online?
Eric those are the new Artist Series posters are new from BoardGameGeek.com's online store. They are taking preorders right now for several different sizes but after the preorder period only smallest size will be available. They are amazing looking. I have the Miskatonic U jersey as well. I really have too many of them and I'm always contemplating more. Thanks for the note and for watching
At the end when Dave said that the bonus card had a to big influence ... is it not better to reveil the card at the end ? When the game starts you 'de picked a card and faced it down ... at the end you reveil you 're card and then it is a surprise for everyone.
1:01:18 Lincoln has a column with two blues, but they scored him for having all five columns with color variety. Aaron actually won by one point instead of trailing by four. Unless im missing something??
Thanks for pointing it out. People noticed (including myself when I edited the video) when the video came out. This is one of the issues I have with the game when playing it further. The colors end up looking similar because of dice surrounding them. It’s easy to see directly from above but not always so when looking from an angle. We try not to move stuff on the table because of camera framing so in this case that worked against us. Thanks for watching-Lincoln
Hey guys!! Yesterday I had a game where one of us got stuck at round 7 and beyond. He unwillingly made a pyzzle where he could no longer put any dice. Is he out of the game? What happens in the draft pool? More dice to the other players? Thank you.
Rodrigo, one thing that that player can do is use a tool to place a die. The tools allow placement of dice that you wouldn't be able to do and that might get the player over the hump and be able to legally place dice again. -Lincoln
at 10:24 you mention how later in the game more undrafted dice can end up on the round tracker area. Do those extras just go above or actually fill in spots likely ending the game before 10 rounds are played?
Man, not just taking the blue 4 and saving the stones for later really ruined Nikki. It is unlikely to have won her the game or anything, but it certainly would have helped.
Love your show--best on the web. Could you pass this next message on to the appropriate person at BGG? Please have the announcers ( Beth, Adam, etc.)let the guests say their own names during the Gencon, Essen, Origins interviews. It is such an easy fix and saves everyone from the embarrassment of having someone's name publicly mangled--which happens 68% of the time during these interviews. Here is the script--"Hi, I'm Beth Heile and I'm here with (indicate other person who says their own name correctly) to talk about (insert game name)." Thanks.
They both are pretty great but personally Azul is just a bit more my type of game. Having said that I have not played the Azul - Sintra game which is thematically closer to Sagrada. Thanks for the note and for watching.-Lincoln
@@boardgamegeek ahh wow, thanks for the reply!! That really means a lot, after watching both playthroughs I think I've landed on Azul, I think it looks an easier game for a younger player to understand, my daughter is only 6 and at the moment that's having a big sway on my game choices, I'll check out sintra right now!
Étienne Desgagnés, those are the new Artist Series posters are new from BoardGameGeek.com's online store. They are taking preorders right now for several different sizes but after the preorder period only smallest size will be available. Today is the last day to preorder. They are amazing looking.
They look so great. Do you know if there will be more Series (as this one is called Series 1)? By the way, thank you for Gamenight, you do an amazing job!
If these posters are popular there are plans for more. I've seen an early version of one poster in the proposed next series and it's going to look great.
I'm sorry if i came off as blunt as i did, that happened with one of my comments to Rhado runs through also. I thoroughly enjoy your content and i've watched every video your team has puts out for years. Now that i know you incourage him to point out different moves to other players, it wont bother me at all in the futur. Long live GameNight!
I love game night and have watched a lot of videos, and I love learning about new games. But I find this to be a pattern in a lot of them: Lincoln complaining the whole time about how hard his game play was, how nothing comes up that he needed, and he wins! It makes you seem like a sore winner. It kind of ruins the mood sometimes.
swimprincess2 - I'm sorry I am bumming you out. Does it help that I didn't actually win this game? :-). I couldn't see a color difference on one of the dice and messed up my score. I will do my best to hold back on those in game comments. Thanks for the note and for watching.-Lincoln
This game had me until the last couple turns... Bogs down the game and (to me) makes it boring and not fun when everyone is playing everyone's game... I know you're playing "friendly" here and not all would be like that, but if you weren't, it would just be a LONG silence at the table while one person figures out how they can place the last few dice...
We're never completely silent, but usually we try to give the active player some silence, so they can figure things out without too much distraction...
