Thank you, Mike! (When I was filming, the “teach” felt kind of long, but it was surprisingly short by the time I was done editing! More credit to the elegant design, maybe!) ⛪️
Thank you, Rich! And it is an awesome game! If you don't have any friends who own it you should just get it for yourself! The solo mode is great and it's such a wonderful game to teach people who are newer to the hobby! Definitely well worth the money for sure!
Thanks for your explanation how to play and your review. Our family and friends that are casual gamers, tend to like abstract, puzzle-like games. Azul and several of it’s versions are huge hits. Unfortunately, Azul is limited to 4 players. So, I’ve just placed the order for Sagrada and the expansion set. I think it will be a nice addition to the Azul collection, especially since player count can be up to 6 players with the expansion! And I will definately consider solo play too!
Thank you for checking out the video and for your comment! ☺️ I think you and your gaming groups will really enjoy Sagrada since it has the abstract, puzzly nature of Azul and even the drafting element, too! And with the private dice pools the game doesn't overstay its welcome, even at six players! Enjoy! ⛪️
p.s. The solo mode is very clever but it's also very challenging! I filmed a solo playthrough if you're interested in how the solo game plays! ☺️ ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-DNWRtEFNmGM.html
I bought this one for myself for Christmas 😊😊 My hubby likes it too! (He has beat me EVERY time 🤣) The solo mode seems impossible to beat. Haven’t beat it yet but I’ll keep trying 😊. GREAT VIDEO and Review!! 😊
That's so funny; Hannah almost always beats me at this one! I wonder what it is that they have that we don't? 🤣 And yeah, the solo mode is very hard to beat... many other people have said that, too! I've only won one time in nine tries!
New to your channel and gaming. You do a great job explaining how to play this game. Really enjoy your enthusiasm over gaming. In another video you mentioned your a teacher and would love to know what grade or subject you teach. Your passion for gaming Really shows . Looking forward to future videos.
Hi there, Eileen! Thank you so much for finding my channel and for the kind words; that really means a lot! I’m so excited that you’re just getting into board gaming! What games have you been enjoying the most so far? And yes, I’m an elementary general music teacher so I teach from kindergarten up to sixth grade! I’m currently in my ninth year of teaching full-time! 🎼 Thank you again for your comment; I’m so happy to have you on board!
I do like the way it can speed up the game but cutting down on the drafting phase of the game! It is a double-edged sword though, because although you can see half of the dice that will end up in your display and plan accordingly, it feels really deterministic when you realize, “Oh, wait… where am I going to put those dice?” 😱 That’s how I felt the last time I played with the private dice pool!
Three fantastic recommendations for sure! I love all three! 👍🏼 Have you played Harmonies by any chance? That’s a great new, abstract game that’s been a huge hit! I’ll be reviewing it tomorrow! 🦁
@@BoardGameDave Not yet, but I own Cascadia and Calico, also I'm not that much into 3D mechanics in board games. For example Reef was not really my type of game. Looking forward to your Harmonies review.
Cascadia is a fun one! Somehow I haven't played Calico yet... every time I start to look through the rulebook I'm surprised by how complex it is! 😅 I can't say I'm necessarily drawn to the 3D puzzly side of board games either but I've been really charmed with Harmonies! (Just uploaded my review this morning!) And people were comparing Harmonies to Reef a lot and I considered getting a copy of Reef but to be honest the components just didn't resonate with me! I like the classic wooden tiles in Harmonies much better!
I haven’t played nor own this game but I think the 2 actions you can do on your turn (favorite tokens & placing a die.) are optional. And every empty slot on your board is worth negative points. Also, where did you see this game at less than 30 dollars? I seem to see it at online stores at 40 dollars. Great video by the way!
Thank you so much! You are absolutely correct: placing a die and using a tool (by spending your favorite tokens) are both optional. And that is a really important point that I missed in my video: empty spaces in your window are -1 point each (unless you're playing solo, in which they're -3 points each). I really appreciate you pointing that out--I can't believe I missed that rule! I'll add it to the top of the description box right now! I always use BoardGameAtlas to check out prices from various online shops and I'm currently seeing Sagrada on there from $24-30 through several retailers! Hope you can get yourself a copy sometime soon! ⛪
@@fightingkitchen7960 Yeah, it looks like the MSRP is $40 but typically you can get games significantly cheaper by shopping around a bit! Like I said, BoardGameAtlas is where I start when I'm looking to save money on a game! 👍
