O Captain! My Captain! our fearful trip is done; The ship has weather'd every rack, the prize we sought is won; The port is near, the bells I hear, the people all exulting, While follow eyes the steady keel, the vessel grim and daring: But O heart! heart! heart!O the bleeding drops of red,Where on the deck my Captain lies,Fallen cold and dead. O Captain! My Captain! rise up and hear the bells; Rise up-for you the flag is flung-for you the bugle trills; For you bouquets and ribbon'd wreaths-for you the shores a-crowding; For you they call, the swaying mass, their eager faces turning; Here captain! dear father! This arm beneath your head;It is some dream that on the deck,You've fallen cold and dead. My Captain does not answer, his lips are pale and still; My father does not feel my arm, he has no pulse nor will; The ship is anchor'd safe and sound, its voyage closed and done; From fearful trip, the victor ship, comes in with object won; Exult, O shores, and ring, O bells! But I, with mournful tread,Walk the deck my captain lies,Fallen cold and dead.
She killed it… fantastic performance. I came in thinkin’ “how can this little chick do this poem justice?” And you know what? She did…. I’m saving this performance - nice job!
My daughter is doing a recitation on this tomorrow. She barely got past the 2nd paragraph and then h gave her this video. She listened to it and then got the whole thing perfectly!
I'm so envious of her expressions! You can seriously see it in her eyes and how each line is appearing on her face like a mirror of her words. SOMETHING I CANT MASTER 😭
Very beautiful voice acting for such a strong and moving poem! I admire the way you guide through the lines of this poem as if it was your own and personal story book!
This was my text poem in secondary class. In the first class we all with our honored teacher became very emotional for President Abraham Lincoln.Walt Whitman composed this poem by his heart bleeding drops for this great man. I can never forget it.... Our national leader, the founder of Bangladesh, Bangabandu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was assassinated on 15 August 1975 by the traitors in the same way as of Abraham Lincoln. On 26 March 1971 when Bengali nation achieved a very high price Independence under the leadership of Bangabandu (means friend of Bengal) and he was trying his best to rebuild the destroyed country and the nation that very moment the killers targeted him as the killer targeted great Abraham Lincoln immediate after the end of the crucial American civil war in 1865.This poem bears very special values for our nation. Thanks to all here for their most beautiful & precious comments. I don't know good English. Pls. excuse my mistakes. Thanks once again.
