Good morning, Mike. The struggle is real. I live in Yorktown, Va. Yesterday I paid $3.47 per gallon of 87 octane gas. $4.79 for 1 loaf of bread and $3.79 for a Zero candy bar. How the heck is a candy bar, 4 bites mind you, more than a gallon of gas? My home is paid for and the kids are grown and doing their own thing. How a young family just getting started can survive is beyond me. Love your channel and your patriotism. Stay safe!

It always amazes me how you are able to talk while operating the excavator, stay on focus of what you're talking about, and also the excavator operation, especially the splitting attachment, and make it look so smooth and effortless, and not get off track on either one. Definitely not something that very many people could do, even if they know how to operate the equipment, so you're definitely on a whole other level of equipment operation I believe, Mike.

The problem of those Indian call centres is easy to fix, the government tells Indian government to shut down all those centres in two months OR India is cut off from all forms on communication links to US, but there is never that political will because of the greasing of palms. 🤔

I finally set my phone up if you aren’t in my contacts it doesn’t ring.

I pay twenty bucks a year for Robokiller. If the caller is not in my contacts, the caller will receive Robokiller's voice recording. There's a huge list of recordings to choose from. My phone will buzz once, that's it. Later in the evening, ill go through the calls and see if i recognize any. I love to listen to an actual person talking to Robokillers recording. I did have Trump, now I've got two Russian mafia dudes bickering about what crimes to do next. Anyway, one buzz means Robokiller picked it up, not a contact, forget it. Hi Mike & Melissa. Always a great job Mike. If it's easier. Just do it. You have work smarter. Not harder. Oak logs are solid & heavy wood. The women in my family & friends ❤ the heavy chunks. We used them overnight. No complaints about heavy woods. I knew a male elder/ family friend that used just chunky & knarly wood all day & all night. I completely understand about a podcast/ headphones while working. I enjoy the " same method" w/ late 1960s & the 1970s decade of music. Hard rock, rock n roll, & " soft rock." Your built up community: We had a " mad rush" of suburbian/ city people into Vermont in late 1980s & early 1990s " They" didn't like how" far back" Vermont was! No type of "city" rubbish disposal, & other things. Back at thier homes. They moved away from. " They" got into Vermont politics. Then started changing Vermont" laid back" society. ( A lots of mad Vermonters did like thier state changing. Some Vermonters are still mad at" suburban/ city people." ( We told some born & raised Vermonters. We're mad at the changes in Vermont.) Fortunately. We didn't get negative results of these Vermonters. ( My mom & boyfriend/ future husband moved to Vermont in spring of 1981. I moved summer of 1981. My second oldest sister & youngest brother moved in December of 1981.) Traffic is heavier than before! 🤬😡😠😤🤔 We avoid Bennington, Vermont's morning, lunch, & late afternoon rushes. Bennington is slowly ripping out signal lights & building roundabouts to take it's place. There's nothing in the Vermont's driving manual about roundabout driving! Melissa, I use the Scan & Go at Sam’s Club, too and it’s SO EASY and it saves so much time. The only caveat… don’t forget to put your item in the cart that you scanned. My last trip to Sam’s Club, I scanned a large watermelon before putting it in the cart and when I got home, I realized that I paid for it without actually bringing it home 😡

I definitely appreciate all the work you do to create and then publish these videos for us. I definitely share your interests and enjoy spending some time with the Morgans, and the extended family, because y’all are just good people. You and your channel have educated and inspired me in many ways. Thank God there are some still left in this world.

I’ve mostly solved the spam caller problem. If they’re not in my contacts they do not get through. It goes straight to voicemail.

I use Costco frequently and the closest one to me, (there are six Cosco stores in my home city), is the busiest Costco store in North America...lucky me. I find that opening, time is the best time by far, to shop Costco.

Your location sounds very familiar to mine. I am about 15 minutes to one town that has a Sams, Costo and a Super Walmart and pretty much everything. The other direction in 15 minutes the other way is a small town with an ACE and Price Chopper. I only have 4 acres, in maybe a 50 acre chunk someone broke up and divided in the county. Outside of my area the people have hectares and I'm about 10 minutes from a 7000 acre reservoir. My neighbors are all like minded, I'm not overly worried. With that said and your cellphone discussion, I would go back to 1985 and stay if I could! Remember being able to cash a check for cash at a grocery store and everything was closed on Sunday? Much simpler time

Great video Mike, love wood, the woods, etc. If we have a really rough winter here, you guys will probably be super cold. I think you guys really cannot get to much stock of wood. With prices skyrocketing, as Melissa explained, actually here it is not 2-4% inflation like Govt tells us, it is more like 25-45%; more and more people are going to use wood to heat, cook campfire etc. It is like a savings account. Fire woold poles, and saw logs, the Kiln are ae savings account. People, when times get tough can do without luxuries, but not without heat, and a means to cook. Your a great manager Mike, and preparedness means many things to different people. Watch the squirrels, they will always get prepared :) ty ❤💯🙏

Mike, I do not know if you are aware of it or you are willing to accept the notion, but you are exceptional and extraordinary. As for the rest of us, it is pretty darn difficult to keep up with the Morgans. Even though I am geographically separated from you, electronic technology allows you to be my cherished and respected neighbor.

I am 83 yr old and 100% disabled. I have the numbers in my phone that I will talk to and the rest gets sent to voicemail. I do not respond to 99% of the voice mail. I only carry my phone when my wife of 58 years is not in the house. If I fall I can call 911 to get help, that is the only reason I even have a phone.....

I feel you about having machines that make life easier. I just started my firewood business a couple of months ago. Although I love my Super Split HD splitter,…I went ahead and put my deposit down for an Axis with a conveyor. The three reasons,…log lift, conveyor so that I don’t toss anymore splits, and a bigger knife to make more splits at a time.

If I remember correctly, Axle’s dad is Abe or one his descendants. Our girl Cara’s father is from Abe. Kathleen West just posted that Abe is living the dream of a dog’s life. FYI..

You’re lucky to have a Costco. They refuse to put one in north east Texas! They have them in the rest of Texas doubled over, but that’s 2.5 hours away…and we’ve been members for years!

I used to get tons of those spam and scam calls but I started blocking every number that calls if they dont leave a message and after 6-8 months of doing that I might get one or two a month. I have all my friends and family's numbers stored in my contacts along businesses, banks, doctors etc so if I get a call from a number not in my contacts that doesn't leave a message I block it.

When you talked about the call centers I thought of a movie. I don’t watch many movies but I saw one on prime video very violent. The name is “the beekeeper”

What is the difference between Sam's and Costco? Ownership? Quality of products? I dont use either currently. I live eural in the woods and pretty much only use farmers markets and butcher shop. Local grocery only for a few things.

We are blasted by scam calls so as we get them we block them. We use Sam's Scan and go. We let our Costco membership lapse because we really weren't using it. Good videos from you guys.

Mike, I can not emphasize enough how it is to be prepared for any emergency. Although pricey $3k-$4k for a harvest right freeze dryer and freeze dry all your excess food is a great way to be ready for an emergency. And no I do not work or sell for the company. I buy meat in bulk, or veggies from my garden and dry what I am not going to use right away. Packed in mylar bags, with an air absorb and then sealed will last up to 20-25 years. I even eat some when not needed, just lazy to cook a full meal. Just add boiling water.

I agree with you about the big rounds , Mike . I thinkk it was easier befoe I got my splitter . At least I could roll the big rounds . Then split them on the garage floor . The splitter is faster , But some of those big rounds I needed help lifting . Now I can't lift . Gonna miss my wood stove this winter . Seeya

Have I missed it? You were or talk about it to build a new wood sled and also repairing the pond dam. Also what about the cabin. It will be falling down before the bathroom is finished. A lot of beautiful days have been lost to be able to enjoy it because of no restroom for the family to spend time there. Maybe this required too of your time away from splitting firewood and the road into the woods? Believe me I know what it is to put a lot of projects out there and myself have done it a plenty of times and had to stop and regroup to get any of it done. I enjoy what you do and thought that I may had missed some of your projects. Blessing +

Our Sam's Club has started something, you walk through an arch and sometimes the attendant waves you through. In the past they would scan your receipt and 2 to 3 items. I don't know if its because you go through a register. Normally we scan our own; but we've been waved through that we as well. TECHNOLOGY!

My Father was a consummate "Do it yourselfer" before it was a "thing" {The only two repair persons I ever saw in our house were the furnace repair technician (parts issues) and the phone repair from Bell Telephone (legality issues at the time) He reminded me of his version of the "handyman's prayer": " Lord grant me the skills to do the tasks I can, The money to hire out the skills I can't , And the wisdom to know the difference"

The Sam's club I use has an AI setup that scans the qr receipt off my phone and verifies the items in my cart as i walk under a set of cameras so now the "checker" just looks at their hand held scanner that says I'm good and they just say thank you so I get to keep walking uninterrupted, it feels alot less intrusive which is nice. I've loved the scan as you go deal and this just made it better.

Costco bill totals are high since their packaging is very large. Great firewood processing👍👍👍

Mike AK fan... Boat horn in a can works great for calls like that! I'd love to see you train Levi on that excavator!! With the splitter and without... I'm the same age as you. I do about anything, welding, mech, electrical, plumbing, equipment... Now I'm just being sure my 15 year old son can do it all to... A dollar saved is a dollar earned! With our future, it might prove to be time well spent... Costco is great. But some stuff is great in the sample but sucks when it gets home! Kroger is another great money saver... We get a buck off our gas.... sign up for bonus... and do digital coupons. My wife saves hundreds. Plus she works for them...

Costco! Love Costco, my wife loves Costco, she goes 2-3 times a week! Love Costco gas. BUT it is busy, especially Saturday and Sunday. I try to stay away on those days. After about 7pm it's not busy here. A lot of Washington license plates in the lot and at the gas. Spokane WA is only about 20-30 minutes away so they come over for way cheaper gas prices and sales tax in Idaho is less than Washington.

Agree regarding the warehouse stores. Costco-needs a scan ‘n go like app, AND needs to improve their website. Sam’s Club-needs to improve their food court order efficiency.

My solution for the spam calls is I connected the fax machine to answer the home phone. Removed the cell from as many as possible.
