Saigo no Iiwake ( "Last Excuse") is by Japanese singer/songwriter Hideaki Tokunaga which was released on October 25, 1988. His original version is the best ❤. Have two popular cover versions in the Philippines that I loved too; "Ikaw pa rin" (ang iibigin ko) by Ted Ito (a pure Japanese singing Filipino songs), 1990, and "My One and Only" (English cover version, 1991) by Kempee de Leon, a popular actor and singer.🙂 I'm a Japanophile since I was 9, loved anime as early as 9 yrs. old. I have a book compilation of Japanese songs, I have a Japanese friend 😊 and I loved sakura the most, but I've never been in Japan. 😄

When i was 7 years old, hearing this song in the streets of our neighbours in its original language (not Filipino version), I would literally run into our home to turn on the radio and tune it to the station that played this, and played it as loud as I can. Wonderful memories; fell in love with someone at that early age, and this song has an influence on my hormones.
