Recorded 6th July 2019 at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig, Isle of Skye, Scotland.
Words & Music by Malcolm Dalglish, incorporating old American banjo and fiddle tune "Sail Away Ladies"
Percussionist: Peter Jacob
Violinist: Ciara McCoppin
Pianist: Julia Piggin
Conducted by Mark O'Leary
Exaudi was founded in 2007 by Claire Preston and Robert Stewart and quickly established itself as one of Melbourne's leading young choirs. Exaudi tours regularly, both in Australia and overseas, and performs frequently in and around Melbourne.
In 2013, Exaudi became part of Young Voices of Melbourne. It is conducted by Mark O'Leary and Juliana Kay.
Exaudi takes its name from the Latin word meaning "listen to us" or "understand us". The choir seeks to "fill the gap" between choristers' experiences in their community or school children's choirs and adult community choirs.

Great to hear this song from the Young Voices of Melbourne to EXAUDI after 10 years. I first heard them on ABC Classic FM in July 2009. Such a lively performance by the crew and I especially enjoyed the tempo change towards the last 2 minutes of the performance. Keep up the great work everyone.

Let's acknowledge the original from Uncle Dave Macon (1927), on which Malcolm based his version. "Don't you rock 'em di-de-oh." Search RU-vid: "Sail Away Ladies Uncle Dave Macon."
