For a first time viewer this was especially interesting. Lajes is on the island of Terceira in the Azores. There is (or was?) a US military installation at the airport, which originated as a ferry stop for bombers being sent to Europe in WW II. Present day it was a base of operations for US Navy patrol squadrons, which is why I spent a couple months there in the late 70's Beautiful island.
We didn’t make it to Terceira this time and kind of bummed about it. Heard how beautiful it really is and obviously not a bad spot to be stationed. Thank you for your service good sir!
Just subbed. Liking what your doing so far. Ben on S/V Nahoa used to rip the fish skin off to. He found it is actually better tasting if you cut the skin off. I bet she was tasty anyway.
Thanks! Yes, nothing like fresh mahi. We ate off the fillets for 5 or 6 dinners. Coconut oil in a hot pan with salt/pepper, 2-3 min each side..so good!
