If you liked the video, you may like to see the return trip titled 'December delivery 180 miles solo Wales to Scotland Sadler 32'. I have lots of videos made sailing many different boats, just click on 'videos' on my channel. I like to get comments.

Hi Mike. I've finally finished the catch-up with your videos from this year! Great to see you out and about again. I enjoyed the ride from up the west coast of Scotland and couldn't believe the beautiful blue sky you had coming past Kintyre! When I think of all the crappy weather we sailed through in July and August this year to get up to Scotland. It's just not fair! Some unfamiliar places to me en route but others like Ardglass I know very well. Look forward to seeing the Jeanneau on the water next season. All the best!

Hi Mark, thanks for following the journey. May June time there's always a good spell of weather, there may not be much wind at times. I did once go north in July and was very lucky with the weather and with a good boat (an Elizabethan 31) and a Hasler windvane steering kept going as far as North Uist. I mistimed the Mull once and was doing 6kn plus for a few hours and staying still, tide so strong against. I brought kelp up with the anchor at Whitehead but glad to have stopped there.

Hi, How did the renovation of your jeanneau sun fast go for you? Will there be an update?

I finished, she is ready to go but have been trying to sell the Sadler which is hampering things a bit. The update should have been a trip. I may still manage one but it will not be so ambitious as planned. I could do a little 'tour' of the boat if I can't sail this year. I will have to make up for it next season! Thanks for keeping an interest.

A nice little video this, i figured i could drop my comment at this slot since i was wondering about the same question. Looked like a lovely sail, making due with the winds you get, and working your way through or around the struggles you come across. That is boating for you. Best regards from Jarle. Come to think of it. I think I sailed my whole season without any issues this year... except for a faulty auto pilot display giving up the ghost on my way back to winter storage. I'm afraid I'll be punished with double trouble next year....

@@StemtoSternSailing Thanks for looking in, I'd finished repairs and got the mast up but there were things to do like installing the autopilot, this became a big job. It took me until September to get the boat ready to launch, two years after buying it. Buying the Sadler meant I'd get a holiday and some sailing. I sold it recently and if I get a break with the weather will deliver it to Scotland soon. I mean to get plenty of time back next year on the Sun Fast.

Hi Mike, You could have done with a bit more wind on this one but must have been good to get out there once more. Where are you keeping the Sadler? I tried to get a mooring in Cemaes a few years back but the little toe rag running the mooring said I lived outside the 5 mile limit (by a few hundred yards) so it was a no go.

The best sailing was Gigha to Belfast Lough when it blew a 5 later in the day. It's what I expected with high pressure. She is anchored as in the video still, I'm not keeping her, I had a holiday! Moorings in the Straits now around a thousand. Mooring in Cemaes has been for locals. Some boats are owned by people from further away, they up the price for them. I have had my own troubles with them. Cemaes beach packed today.

@@mjcooke2sailingmostly I took the dog for a walk and had a look at the Sadler, she was rolling about a bit. I would have been interested in her myself if she had been a twin keel. The beach was packed again now the Sun's made an appearance.

@@joeswinny7686 Not too bad with the wind in the NE but gets more rolly in N wind but safe enough. Am busy with the new fuel tank installation. Not many were made as bilge keel I don't think. Mark's dog having a great life.

I don’t like the traveller there ever thought of the German mainsheet?, and as you’ve sailed everything what do you think of Rivals🦑
@mjcooke2sailingmostly
@mjcooke2sailingmostly 4 месяца назад
I have a stalled Rival 32 project, It's nearly 30 years now. I did so much work on it I had to get other boats so I could sail. I did sail it engineless from the boatyard around to my little harbour about 15ml but that's all in all that time. I think they are a good bet if you have one in mind. They also have the mainsheet track across the main companion. I made a fibreglass sprayhood and when running, the mainsheet would foul the side of the hood so I will have some arrangement of transferring to the coamings on a run. All the best.
