Built for Dave Wharton by Hector Handyside at J.J Harrison's in Amble,
Gratitude promoted Whitby and its maritime history at sailing festivals from Newcastle to Sydney, Amsterdam to Douarnenez.
The film was made by the BBC 2 televisions Under Sail programme in 1986.
Gratitude is now owned and sailed by the Friends of Bridlington Sailing Coble Preservation Society. They have built and restored an expanding fleet of cobles, find them on Facebook.

I see an abundance of culture sharing, unity, joy. It's difficult to not wonder if we'll ever see it again. I don't want to be negative on such a wonderful video, but I wanted to share my observation.
