Thanks for the gyre in the northern Irish Sea. Greatly improves the experience of marine life

We found it rather ironic that the further north we went, the warmer the weather became... 😄

It's always good to hear clear briefing and ongoing dialogue between sailors as it demonstrates competence and confidence in self and each other, it also creates readiness and willingness to react as a team if/when things run less than smoothly. I also like that when you speak to us at this side of the screen, you discuss rationale and the decision making processes. Cair Vie.

Thank you Mark 👍 Comments like that coming from an RNLI Coxswain really mean a lot to us (and congrats on passing 👍👍👍) We always try and prepare for any eventuality and explaining it to that camera helps clarify everything as well, so you and our audience to assist us in our assessments. Thank you to you all......

Thank you for your congratulations and your support of the Institution. Hope next year's plans include a harbour wall cuppa 🙂

We have no idea what we are doing in 2024, but if we are in Douglas we will certainly be available for a harbour wall cuppa 👍

I really loved this video because the conditions were so calm. Not at all my experience of that stretch of water! ⛵️

I think it is a matter of just waiting for a decent sea state. We feel that is more important than the wind.

Seeing dolphins is always good. Cruising chutes need careful planning to avoid tangles, especially when there's just the two of you. Motor sailing is fine to get the miles done when it is light winds.

We are a very pragmatic pair and although we dislike motoring we do it when necessary

I would also love to plan not to do something that I don’t want to do. So Thankyou for putting the fun into this session. I can’t wait to not do what I didn’t want to do. You can bet your life that I won’t be doing it. Merry Xmas salty lasses from Liverpool.

I kinda wish I'd had more time to explore the Irish East coast, especially as you show what I've missed. I hope the weather is being kind to you now.

No, you could sit around in your underpants but you might imitate the legendary brass monkey....

Save your self lot pain raising main buy letting of main sheet so boom can move of wind try it I use it all time as I sail alone. Will you be back at Carrickfergus this year. Love j
@SailingYachtSaltyLass
@SailingYachtSaltyLass 9 месяцев назад
We prefer to keep the boom centered and get the boat aligned to wind. It just works better with our set up. We have been in Bangor for some months now and are busy with family stuff and other things and the weather has not been kind enough to bother sailing, but if we get a good day then Carrick is likely as a sort of sea-trial for 2024.
