Sailing 

This is the first video what I saw about "real" sailing. It was maybe around 2009-2010. I was 13-14 years old. Since then I started to sail dinghies and learnt about sailing in my own way. In 2013 I bought myself an own sailingboat a Simoun 445 which I use as much I can but in my country(Hungary) you cannot go on the water on tough weather and it's not good. In 2014 I got my certification for bigger crafts and now in '16 I work as a skipper in the summers. The main fun is the small fasts dinghies of course. This video inspired me as mutch as now in '16 I'm an enthusiastic sailor. Thanks for this video!!!!!!

Amen. This video exhibits both excellent seamanship as well as some mistakes. What's awesome is watching someone right a turtled boat lickety split. That says more about the sailor than the mistake he made getting knocked down. If you haven't been knocked down you haven't sailed enough (or you sail multihulls, or just heavy ballasted boats). Nothing better than the adrenaline of sitting up on the side of your hull cutting through the water. Nothing worse than the pit in your stomach when you realize you've heeled too far and your cockpit's filling with water. Can't wait to get out there this summer!

Because they are sailing as a sport, not as a sunday-eavning-picnic with the family in .5 knots of speed on the lake next to your summer-hut as you propably are.

Wow, these conditions must have been really windy since I haven't capsized a 420 in ages...including 20-30 knot gusts conditions.

That clip was amazing! i absolutely loved it. sailing is like the most intense sport there is. i sail in lasers with my friends on the Race team and we sailed in Cork one time and it was totally insane. i mean we turtled like every ten seconds cause the winds were so intense. we even blew two of or spins :( there goes a couple thousand. but it still rocked. i really recomend it

sailing is sailing bre! Iv sailed 420s 470s 505s Hobies, and now a Laser for 30yrs and love it all, but even get a kick out of El Toro dingies and fat Catalina cruisers - all good, dont be a hater.

Anyone who thinks these guys are lame cause they "can't handle it" knows fuck all about sailing. They are legends and so what if it goes wrong every now and then, Congrats to the cameraman and thanks :D

Betcha I've watched this video fifty times now. Great song and excellent footage and production, but by far the best part of it is that it shows how exciting and how much *fun* sailing can be. No whiners and their tantrums here. Doubtless they were there at the regattas, but thanks to ivanbulaja for editing them out.

this video is great! :D i've never sailed on a 420 or 470 (i hardly manage to differenciate the two btw (: ). i'm only sailing on the byte for now due to my school only having byte and optimists for race class and also because of my age (: sailing on a 420 looks like fun! :D

Img this takes me back to the FD and 505 days, I must have done all of these capsizes. Although haven't seen the forward capsize carried out by me and bro at the finish line down at Lee on Solent in the Javelin. Favourite is at 4.16, me on the wire and Martin on the helm.....we did that one!!

it's not lame man!...what you see in this video is professional sailing at olimpic regattas...it's as demanding as any sport...i used to sail on Optimist,Laser,470...7 years sailing in romania
