Wow what an inspiration you are, I have the upmost respect for you. At the moment I am fighting cancer and you show me how to take what life throws at you and continue on. Thank you
My wife and I have just returned from Spain where my brother-in-law has a 50 foot ketch. He introduced us to sailing and we are slowly learning the basics. I think we hooked. Your video was truly inspiring and you can certainly paint, wonderful. Hope you will share some more in the future.
Thank you so much for doing these videos. It brings tears of joy to my eyes realizing it possible for me to do this someday. You are such an inspiration!
I totally and accidentally stumbled onto this video. Much respect for getting on that boat and continuing what you and your mate started. Ill be looking for your other videos. Oh, amazing paintings too!
Inspirational! Thanks for sharing and finding the energy and drive to go on. I am certain your "captain" is smiling at, and being proud of, you now - wherever he is roaming on the eternal ocean.
Love this video! Captures the essence of the joys and challenges of single-handed sailing. Bravo for continuing to do what you love to do, even after the loss of your soul-mate and former Captain!
Incredible woman you are! Brave and courageous, riding life instead of hiding in a shell of pain. The sea will help you. When I saw the dolphins guiding you, tears came up to my eyes... Good luck!...and I will look forward to more videos, of course!
Great vid, thanks for sharing. I solo sail in the Gulf of Mexico away from any commercial lanes where its fairly safe (except for the occasional hurricane) but its like you demonstrate: staying ahead of the game and thinking logically through what you have to do and staying out of the way of other boats and then you can enjoy sailing. Best of luck, and love your painting.
Loved your video. I used eBay to buy an old boat in Connecticutt from my desk in the UK and solo sailed her to Florida. My wife and friends thought I was mad but it was a great adventure for me. So we can do it Elizabeth - slowly and surely! Fair winds.
Good for you Elizabeth. Art can be very therapeutic can't it, and you're depicted as having started a relatively new chapter in your life and your art will surely reflect this. I'm betting that you feel your late husband's presence constantly with you on your boat as you sail around the Med. Incidentally from what is shown of your artwork you would appear to be very proficient. Happy sailing.
What an absolutely wonderful and touching video. So nice to see art and sailing go hand in hand. It is very inspirational, also thoughtprovoking in wondering what life on a boat must be like after loosing a spouse. I can't even imagine. Thank you for producing and sharing this video.
just great, the will, strength and courage after your loss... and beautiful impressive clip, just sent to my wife as a great inspiration....., hope to see more...enjoy...
So brave, so talented. Really moved by the video, but the way it was shot, often from your PoV made me feel like I was there, and immediately I felt the nerves and pressure if I was there having to do what you were. I couldn't. Not alone so it gave me an increased respect for what you have done and your bravery. You are an inspiration. And you saved the best 'til last, your amazing artwork.
I have great respect for you. You sail single hand like me. You don't overestimate yourself. You sail carefully. Safty first. That is the only right way to do it.
Bless your heart! Love you art......you have that "touch" and "vision" ..... very good!! I just subscribed to your adventure. God speed and fair winds!! Johnny
Great video, and what an inspiration for others. You have great talent in your paintings. Sure would like to get one, similar to the sailboat shown in one of the paintings.I noticed you gave someone your website, so I will go there. Wishing you fair winds and God Bless.
I can here your empty feeling in your voice, life has many curve-ball in companionship that you spend with someone, and to share emotions and hope. And to loose some one that your used to that filled you life, it can suck the wind out of you when that void is there. Your pictures I can see the pain and your longing for beauty that you admired and respect. you have been blessed with talent. it was good to see your video and here about the partnership you had with your Husband.
Just found your video. Lovely. Have sailed many times in Greece and Turkey on other people's boats. Would love to get my own boat to do what you are doing.
