Igor what makes your channel so different is this sailing. This small dinghy stuff, forget the keel boats, this is seriously brilliant.

You could maybe run a sheet from one Jib cleat to the other, but have a friction ring secured to the Clew of the Jib. This would allow the Jib to be self tacking’ of course not as good, but still be able to tension in an out if needed via the Jib sheet through the cleat. Similar setup on some keel boats.

Not hugely relevant to your adventure, but I'm really enjoying the piano at 5:30. It put me in a contemplative mood, which I think can happen to sailors as they gaze upon the open waters and consider the life-arc that has brought them to this exact point in their lives ... very philosophical, if you know what I mean. Thanks for posting!

Great video man, I thought you will be moving towards a bigger boat with the cabin (like the one you sailed in Lofoten - little lake cruiser). I guess you don't want to make it too complicated with an outboard and something to get ashore. I like your approach - you don't need a lot of money to do some exploring and make a great adventure. Minimalism is the way to go. I will keep watching.
@IgorStropnik
@IgorStropnik 3 года назад

@@IgorStropnik I crewed on a 157ft (sparred) tops'l schooner out of Baltimore for 6 months and we were sponsored by someone I can't remember, but I'd highly prefer a coverall, full suit like this. Hoping to do a lot of northern lat sailing at some point, I prefer the north.

Very very inspiring video, one question, do you think that RS QBa is a good option for dinghy cruising?? I found it perfect by light weight and roof top car transporting, but what are your sailing perception about it?
@IgorStropnik
@IgorStropnik 3 года назад
It is very small. Probably something bigger is better. It is fun to sail without luggage onboard.
@rydstedt94
