The sail from Valencia to Denia was the fastest, farthest and least eventful sail we've experienced on Ker Gouel to date. We anchored next to the Denia marina and left at sunrise the next day for Ibiza. Although we clocked the wind to speeds as high as 30 knots, the boat handled beautifully. We changed sail configurations with the changing winds and used the mizzen to reduce weather helm. As we neared Ibiza the wind diminished closer to shore, next time we'll aim higher so we don't need to motor north to the opening. Once we cleared the smaller islands the wind and waves coming toward us were intense, but that only lasted about 20 minutes before rounding the curve, setting sails again and gently coasting into Cala Bassa. When we arrived, only 2 other sailboats were anchored, that all changed the next day, more about that in the next video.
