I had to smile when this showed up in my feed. I have been watching a lot of Hipyo Tech the past month. I was very pleased that you included a sound test. It is almost like ASMR to me (lol). Of course, the best sound to me was the one not currently offered. Nice review and video.
Luckily some of the switches demonstrated in this video are available on other models, and some are sold separately for after market installation! If any of them are no longer available, chances are high that Akko has replaced them with newer models.
May your hands live long. Continue your creativity. Your channel is creativity, distinction, and success. God willing, it will reach one million subscribers soon.
If they Akko brought out a wireless version of the pac-man 5108S I'd buy it instantly! I love the short-throw, crystal keys, and of course, who doesnt love Pacman!
Wow, I thought I was the last person alive who could nerd out over keyboards! Seriously, I haven't seen a keyboard review this thorough or this good since the early 1990s, when publications like PC Magazine and InfoWorld used to have intelligent things to say about them. By the late 1990s, the generic putty-colored or black keyboards that come with new desktop PCs were so cheap and ubiquitous that most people didn't remember what a quality keyboard was. The trade rags didn't help matters, because their keyboard reviews, when they wrote them at all, were about as informative as "I tried out the Spanakopita 102/104 Keyboard, and it has, uh, keys... like 102 or 104 of them (I didn't actually count, and I don't actually know what those two extra keys do anyway, if it's missing them), but they weren't chicklet keys like the BAD, BAD, BAD original IBM PC Jr. that came out, like, 100 years ago but we'll make sure nobody ever forgets..." Come to think of it, nowadays, that's pretty much what all trade rag reviews sound like, which is why we look to content creators like you to bring us helpful product reviews. Cheers to you for showcasing products that work well and feel good to use, explaining all the characteristics that make them work well and feel good, and demonstrating that products can have all that and still appeal to one's sense of style.
The ultimate question for you, Shannon, is whether or not each key makes sound distinctive enough for machine learning to crack your password just by listening to your typing ;) ;) ;) ;)
So the RGB one is out of stock of course...kinda sucks that it's the only one most people are interested in. I wanna buy it for my girlfriend. Is there any way you can help?
Akko has restocked and upgraded the keyboards several times, so keep an eye on their site. I've also seen them for sale on eBay and Mercari from collectors.
