33:40 -- RE: Default Dhow Tips; I agree with you mostly, I'm not a fan ultimately of the lateen on the dhow *but* it is nonetheless excellent as a "1 Sail Only" solution and also has an impressive amount of sail area which makes it truly shine when it starts reaching, beam or broad. To increase visibility, my own habit is to avoid deploying the sail completely when getting close to the destination. It doesn't reduce speed that much, and being able to see from the Helm is the issue. Also, high or very high winds (including storms) are likely a time when you'd want to have less sail up, not all, so it doesn't get in the way then, either.
Yup, with you on that one James! A one sail config on the dhow is quite attractive for a more relaxed sailing experience! Enjoyed testing the fin sail on it as well. Upgrading to a tall mast can help visibility I feel, as long as you don’t go overboard with sail size!
@@Icu2chill I can offer a follow-up tip for taller mast + more sail: you need more ballast on the keel and near the mast. I've been using 1 crate of copper, 3-4 barrels of water, and sometimes a crate of gems just to keep the dhow *or* the cog from heeling over under more sail. And I also have a habit of shifting 1 barrel + the gems to the Upwind side. Since Gems cost more than Copper, it's also possible to use 1 or 2 crates of that instead, and sliding one of them Port or Starboard depending on where the wind is. But I wouldn't put the copper completely onto one side or the other; it would be better to have it resting between the Keel and one side or the other, and shifting it Port, Center, or Starboard.
Yes! Ballast is the way to go, only thing is as you listed, it takes quite a lot and not much space left for trading or missions. One or the other I guess!
@@Icu2chill Yep. 4 barrels of *anything,* 1-2 of Copper or 1 Copper + Cargo (>200 lbs). I noticed the cargo missions being generated have mail courier alternatives, which means to me I can sometimes leverage more profit from trade than the cargo missions would pay, and with safer boat loading since I don't get stuck with 4-5 crates of stuff that weighs 250 lbs or more, each.
It would fit indeed T.A! I just thought the stove is at a rather prohibitive price early game. I’m adding it in part 2 as my 5 star setup for longer journeys!
