This is all culture!! Only nikkah and Valima is Islamic, anything else we do is taken from the Indian/ Hindu culture. Hindu's have haldi ceremony where they put the orange stuff on the face. Ours is called Mayun and we put obtan the orange colour stuff, song songs etc etc just have these events for fun, there's no Islamic relevant to it
Congratulations to the new couple! Mama that was a nice event but it’s really not necessary to have these Mayoon and Dholki functions. I know Saima is Punjabi and most Pakistani’s have these rituals but they are adopted from Indian cultural/ religious ceremonies. I didn’t have this at all nor do my family as in our Pashtun culture there is no Indian rasams . I think only a girls side mehendi party is fine along with Nikkah and Walima .

Our wedding are so simple we dont have haldi( upton we also call that yellow thing) etc .. just mendi day, nikkah & walima ... back in the day us gujjs use to do haldi days just like back home people like the hindus style and its was so ridiculous.. and slowly our youngest got rid of that traditional...Alhumduilallah... cause they could jot bath etc for like 3 days ( how disgusting) but its only rasam or cultural thing not islamic It was so horrible.. but now Alhumduilallah no on in gujis do that
@suraiyakhan5407 no sis I'm not offended at all I'm talking about our family & culture the gujis were so behind back in the day and Alhumduilallah we all admit it so we can learn from our elders mistakes so our new and younger generation don't follow or do the same mistake as them actually speaking they are saving as from things that aren't necessary Alhumduilallah we are human and I don't understand why people take each and every comment negative .. we should learn and improve ourselves from the mistakes and error that our elders did always always try to think positive.. cause at the end of the day we learn from making mistakes

Although I'm gujji but I really like Pakistani food! It so same as us especially there clothes love love that... in India Gujrat the clothes style isn't brilliant as Pakistan style ..
Aunty it is not a “proper Islamic nikka” not hating just stating this is not how the prophet advised to do it. But kher May Allah keep the couple united and happy.
