Your lessons keep me going. If not for you, I would have given up trying to learn the fiddle. Your friendly face, calm manner, awesome personality and wonderful sense of humor are RARE in this world, so I really appreciate you and your kind lessons. You're so cute - especially when you look like you just got out of bed! Thanks for making me feel connected to someone with music.

@@fiddl3hed Thanks again Jason! And oh, by the way, the little voice in your head all those years ago that whispered "play the fiddle" - well - the Great Spirit knew he wanted you to touch a lot of people with the gift of music, so props for listening to Him! You are blessed, and so are those of us who benefit from your teaching. LUV U!

@fiddl3hed

M. Miller....there is a slow downer now in the upper right corner of RU-vid. You can slow ALL their videos down. Are you aware of the FIddleHed Facebook page? Although hundreds of FiddleHed videos will continue be available on RU-vid, check out FiddleHed.com. There are free options there that you might find helpful.

You are such a good fiddle teacher Jason! I knew this tune from hammered dulcimer, and forgot about it. Was a lot easier to learn it on fiddle than some other songs.

Your intonation is so so good. How long were you playing before that became pretty innate?
@fiddl3hed
@fiddl3hed 2 года назад
Thanks Marcia. It took me a few years. But I didn't have the benefit of drone tuning, which really helps people improve intonation. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-oJ0zW0Ncrrs.html

The slower the better. This tune rewards slow practice. My fiancé prefers it played slowly.

First time seeing this (even though 7 years late)... An old man here trying to learn. What I found very useful was the moving diagram in the upper right corner as you played the notes. Is that available as PC software? Thanks for your help. - Paul -

Hi Paul. Better late then never! The finger charts are not an app. Our video editor creates them.

Thanks! Do you think you could do John Browns Dream in this format! I'm learning a ton from your videos and expanding my repetoire! Where's the donate button? :)

I know the answer. Click "show more" above. Find and click on Jason's website. Find "Buy Now" and take it from there.

JPRV, did you know we have a FIddleHed Facebook page? There is a request event going on there this week. Go there, look for the post about the request event and list John Brown's Dream. If it is in the top five, it might be the next video.

Hey, it is a dance tune... people have to move... the music moves them... that is why it is played fast.

Where are the fingerings?

Not all videos have them. This video is over three years old. The ones on RU-vid are no longer maintained. They should still be helpful. Cheers.
