It was a great historical coverage video about Saint Edmund as a diving Christian ✝️ king in East Anglia resisted Haithn Viking armies invasions in 8th century years...he captured, tortured, and executed by Viking warriors..video introduced by an excellent ( Hidden history) channel....thanks for sharing

I heard that the red flag with white dragon was associated with St. Edmund. Does this have a historical basis of is it a more modern invention?

The flag includes the Wyvern - a serpent-like creature, which is associated with Anglo-Saxons (mainly Wessex). It’s depicted on the Bayeux Tapestry and apparently has a historical basis dating back to 752 AD.

I read somewhere that Edmund was born on the continent and was the nephew of the previous king, and inherited the crown upon his death and was brought to England to be the new king. This also raises questions because if Vikings were attacking at this time, had much of the people or places where the Anglo-Saxons originated from changed so significantly that they were now culturally Vikings instead of Anglo-Saxons? It seems like there must be some overlap if English Anglo-Saxons still had familial ties to the mainland.

@@jongerdemann2824 Angeln's geographical position would have made them Vikings 3-4 hundred years later anyway. It's probably the case with so many tribes and so called Races , same people , different name.
