Alexandre Kantorow performs Camille Saint-Saëns piano concerto n°5 Op. 103 "Egyptian" Orchestre de Chambre Nouvelle Europe Nicolas Krauze, conductor Live concert in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France, October 2016
This absolutely fantastic combination of the classical with the exotic( Spanish, Oriental) has enchanted my spirit and it has been performed superbly by Kantorow and the orchestra. What a wonderful conductor as well! Thank you so much for this Parnassus of ART!
This is a beautiful performance, a lovely cooperation between all. Obtaining such a balance isn t an easy task and it s done with delicacy and efficiency. The audience was lucky and I am very thankful for the posting. Thank you very very much. A lovely time exquisitely spent with lovingly playing musicians.
Magnifique... Le piano enchanteur... Quelle sensibilité... Quelle poésie... Quel lyrisme...
Which would probably apply to most of the Thibaudet recordings I have heard. He looks like a fine chap, and comfortably open with his sexuality, but I just wish I could like his playing better. Quite the showman, though.
I used to love Saint-Saens. Listening to this was like drinking watered down wine. What vacuous doodling! And I HATED the fish-eye view! Thanks for posting.
Idiot. One of the greatest composers of all time, writing a masterpiece here. And it's doodling to you. Have you heard Samson and Delilah? The Third Symphony? Second piano concerto? Etc. The piano etudes? Your comment says everything about you, and nothing about Saint Saëns.
"For me, art is form. Expression and passion are what first seduce a listener. For the artist, it is different. The artist who is not fully satisfied by elegant lines, harmonious colours and a beautiful sequence of chords does not understand art." - Camille Saint-Saëns
