A decent baseline for saint. I am excited for downpour speedruns, the dlc is great. Subscribe if u like rain world downpour and speedruns... Leaderboards - www.speedrun.c...
@@jessiesowter Technically none of those 'endings' are really untrue though, since it doesn't actually matter if the iterators get ascended in a run of the campaign or not. They get reset along with everything else after the ending.
Thanks for making this, I've been itching to see what a skilled player can do with Saint I'd love to see what a Gourmand speedrun would look like with his exhaustion mechanic removed, or perhaps with Saint's tongue instead so you can swing around and damage enemies like a wrecking ball. Due to the modded nature of such things you wouldn't get on any leaderboards, but such things sound immensely fun to work with.
Soo , Saint got echoed cuz he tried to repel against the very thing that rules the void sea His mind and body still continue living trough the same (by that i mean the places Saint visits to achive full karma) memories of his journey to the Rubicon while the original self , that went trough this first is stuck right in the place where game strats , forever in purgatory of their own mind
That or Saint is the symbolization of death, and the end of the cycles. A being that lives outside of the cycles and acts as a ferryman for those trapped within it.
Or we know from Reading pearls that sliver made simulations inside simulations. Maybe its still a simulation and we never got out in the first place wich is why the voidsea looks so weird. That or saint just meditated his mind into the void and since only the wormys can let someone ascend, the saints ascension only overwrites their karma effectively breaking their cycle. I mean how do the other slugcats ascend ? By having the highest attunement, they get one with nature and are able too see the echoes. Then the voidsea becomes harmless for them and the worms can keep them. Voidworms cant ascend, so maybe that was him getting rid of His attunement, leaving him with no karma and as a consequence he gets repelled
@@ez9566 it's never stated that sliver made simulations inside simulations. that's only what other iterators did trying to replicate her work, because they feared the solution itself was dangerous and needed to be found within a simulation.
What I think is going on is that the saint had one thing that was still tying them to the world and that was wanting to ascend all so when he tried to ascend yrrej and it didn’t work they still wanted to ascend all so then they became an echo (ending screen) but with echos 50% of them are ascend so I think that 50% is replaying it’s memories (the entire campaign) and maybe the saint was created by either SRS or NSH because we know they dabbled in making purposed slugcats (spearmaster and hunter) so maybe the saint might of been one of their later creations.
@@Haunted_Rug spoilers: Saint was made by Sliver of Straw, they were the ‘solution’ SoS found. This is found out in challenge mode I believe, where you actually fight SoS as saint and ascend them.
ik, and im already depressed by how he's just sitting there all alone in the snow inside the broken collapsed structure. It just makes me feel ever so sad
And what do we learn from this? Don’t mess with those weird worm thingies when you happen to fall down somewhere or they’ll turn you into a depressed fish
I wonder if the ending is supposed to mirror Lucifer’s fall from grace; Saint, a prized disciple of karma broke their oath by attempting to ascend a void worm. This led to their fall from grace (as seen by how the karma level rapidly drops) and them transforming into an echo (much as how Lucifer transformed into Satan)
Well at least saint is a unique echo I think. Because others were attached to mortal realm while Saint is only attached to himself. That is why he can enter the void and leave the point of no return. Other echoes were MORE attached to physical while ones who ascend completely abandoned it while Saint didn't do both of these. He is true neutral between void and land because he dont chose any side. Saint is a carrier while other creatures are passengers
I havent played downpour bc i dont have money, but why are you ascending the guardians?? Will they attack you or do you need them for the ending or something??
Echo: *starts philosophical monologue now that they finally have an audience to listen to them* Saint: *immediately peaces out after reaching them* Echo: Hey, where are you going? I just started-- damn it, they're gone now.
Can SOMEONE PLEASE add any info to my question? This game has finite spawns of most creatures. (Excluding things like bat flies, I assume maybe leeches too idk.) What would happen… if you ascended Everything? Do we know for certain that it wouldn’t change the ending? Think about it. I’ve looked around the internet and i can’t find any evidence this has been attempted. Can anyone contribute?
So after you beat the game as saint you keep the item you had stored in ur stomach for the next playthrough, even when deleting the file. I had the bubble weed stored from last time.
