In fearful day, in raging night, With strong hearts full, our souls ignite. When all seems lost in the War of Light, Look to the stars, for hope burns bright!
Lord Darkseid The Blackest Night falls from the skies, The darkness grows as all light dies. We crave your hearts and your demise, By my black hand, the dead shall rise!
Why the hell would he bring his family along on such a dangerous journey?? "Everyone who takes this journey, dies." "Oh, the kids will really enjoy that!"
Jewbear1884 That's fucking stupid logic. If leaves his family behind and succeeds (which he did), his family would survive. Now, he saved his planet, but his family is dead anyway, because he was a moron and personally led them to their deaths.
Ese Tiny So, if he had left his family behind, he would have forgotten they existed and had no need to save them? Wtf... is he a toddler who has no object permanence?
Alfonso Rodríguez Martínez Saint John actually has lots of willpower. If anything, its just that he got a much greater hope than his already great willpower (which is why he can create constructions with the blue lantern ring, without needing a green lantern nearby).
Alright heres SAINT WALKER! Need to ask you guys a question though, do you enjoy this practically daily comic book content? Or should we slow down our roll and go back to 4 shows a week? Your decide!
Beastex We're still trying to bring longer Complete Stories out weekly, this week it was House of M. The goal is always at least one, sometimes two 12-20 minute complete stories weekly
ClasherZip agreed. DC has been secondary to me, but for a few exceptions. Saint Walker is one of those exceptions, which made me like the Green Lanterns series. Shame they've retconed the Blue Lantern Corps.
Comicstorian Yes I would. By the way can you tell me about The Presence the God of DC. I'm a bit lost about him and Lucifer and Michael. Also did you think it was one of Adare talk to Walker.
Im Christian and I have to say this is beautiful :') finally I found the perfect lantern corps for me, I was born having faith in my god and I do have great hope, and I seriously have to say this is beautiful, literally made me cry a lil bit
Saying, "I was born having faith in my god" sounds good, but I encourage you to know why you believe what you believe. If you don't, when trials come, your beliefs may be blown like chaff in the wind. Root yourself in the truth, and your faith will stand like a tree planted by water. Faith is only as good as what you put it in (e.g. trusting a rickety, 3 legged chair to hold your weight won't end well), so make sure what you trust is indeed trustworthy. I'm a Christian as well, so please take this as someone trying to help make you stronger, not someone trying to dissuade you. Two great resources I'd recommend are The Case for Christ (book or movie) by Lee Strobel, and "Why I Believe the Bible" by Voddie Baucham.
So Saint Walker is Job from the bible kind of? I like this character a lot and think he deserves his own movie, and I want to see a lot more of The Blue Lanterns.
Nicely done, you did embellish a bit I noticed, but it made for a very good narrative. However for the sake of accuracy, it should be noted that Walker *never* referred to himself as the messiah, or gave himself the title of 'saint.' He's *way* too humble for that. Also in his first appearance in Green Lantern, he says he was honoured with the title. Also, the sun didn't shrink, it grew younger. A lot of people have issues with him taking his family, but if you read the story, his home town was full of rioting and his temple was set alight. He probably felt they'd be safer with him. He made an impossible decision. My only issue with the Blue Lanterns is the whole 'they need a green ring to fully function' thing. Walker's hope has *never* been an idle hope. Right from the start, the messiah didn't come to him, so he decided to go to them. He pressed on through the harshest of conditions and has always fought to defend people. That should be enough willpower to fully unlock his ring!
I agree. Hope and willpower go hand-in-hand, so I love the idea of the power boost from the two working together. However... Just like love, or rage, or greed, or compassion, hope can be a powerful motivator. I moved all the way across the US, not once, but three times, based purely on hope for a better life on the other side. It was only the third time I moved that actually paid off, but it DID pay off. My hope gave me the will to go forward, like Walker's did him.
Curt Clark The expectation (HOPE) of a better life for yourself is driven by something deeper; TRUSTING or BELIEVING that such an endeavor is not futile and in fact, possible (in spite of low chances or uncertainty). . . that's called FAITH. To hope is to have faith.
TuxedoElf they boost the green lantern rings to past 100 percent how it that realizing there full potential. The blue lanterns can quell the hunger of the orange lantern does that mean an orange lantern needs to be around for blue lanterns full potential... No. You have no idea how the rings work.
@@saintwalker8536 He said that the Blue Lanterns need a Green Lantern to reach their full potential, not the other way around. How about you make sure you actually understand the comment before you insult the guy.
God that was one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard people think say comic books ,manga, and graphic novels aren't meaningful that there just colorful pictures well they are dead wrong
As an honorary Blue Lantern, I proudly say, In fearful day, in raging night. With strong hearts full, our souls ignite. For all those lost in the war of light, look to the stars for Hope burns bright. He's my favorite Lantern. I want Elijah Wood to voice him.
You could be. Hope isn't religion. Saint Walker's hope is channelled through his religion, and that's what makes it powerful for him. For someone else, it could be channelled through the hope that they could be happy after leading a miserable life. And yes, it could be channelled the very way you said. There's always hope :)
@@youtubeuniversity3638 What are you mad about? He didn't say anything wrong, you don't need a religion to be a hopeful person, while believing in a higher being can help those who don't believe in themselfs, it's not a requirement. I myself am a optmistic nihilist.
The Blue Lantern Corp really got me through some rough times every time I was struggling in life I always said the blue lantern oath as encouragement and it always made feel like All Will Be Well 😅
This was my first video of yours Ben thank you so much for giving me so much hope of the years and helping me through so much without even knowing from the bottom of my heart thank you for everything I wish I got to shake ur hand eligible monster
May you rest Easy ComicStorian, you’ve given us not only hope and joy, but a love for comics and characters we would’ve never known on our own. Thank you and rest easy now, for All Will Be Well
I like blue lanterns. Still waiting for my ring. Everyday in ranked lol, I never give up, no matter how many afks, trolls or flamers that comes my way i push through. Never give up never surrender.
Hawkman But Blue Lanterns are not only about "just being hopeful" you also need a lot of Willpower to enforce the Hope. After all, most Blue Lanterns got next to no powers besides force fields and flying unless they are empowered with a great willpower charged green lantern ring.
Lil Poro Actually, considering that the other lantern rings pretty much controls its user in 1 way or another (the orange and indigo lanterns being the worse since they overwrite their users minds completely), I would say that the Green Lanterns are the most free, since you get to keep your own creativity instead of the mind the ring enforces on you.
This was the video that made me subscribe. I have come back to this video for YEARS for inspiration for REAL LIFE situations. THANK YOU, BENNY! Job well done.❤
But which ones the originals, The second version where a female became the new dove, the third where a female became the new hawk, or the current New 52 version where its basically the second version of hawk and dove
I love your videos please continue doing this series and please give obscure characters related to story lines you are planning on doing later in the future. Keep it up.
This was a great story, despite people trying to hate on religion because it holds value of hope in a higher power then yourself, which people choose not to believe. Whatever you(reader) believe remember not everyone else has to believe in(or not believe in) the same things you choose to believe(or not).
You narrate very well. I've always been curious about the different lanterns and finally looked them up via your chanel. This is the first time hearing this story and it moved me to tears. Awesome! PS what was the song in the background??
Saint Walker is my favorite lantern and I'm so glad that you've done him justice by telling his comic book origins in this video. Thank you very much. I wasn't aware of this origin.. I mostly knew of Saint Walker through the Green Lantern: Animated Series and his origin was told quite differently. Not sure now which to believe. But either way..... ...... all will be well. :)
Man I like you're videos please keep making them daily! because of this channel and your great story telling, I got into justice league trinity war. Also I was always a Big DC fan and now you took it to another level I'm gonna continue watching all your DC comics story! Keep it up man! P.s. could you do Grayson issues I want to know how he became an agent
+Powerman77775 blue lanterns are strongest. but it is stated that with out the will power to act hope is useless. the green lanterns and blue lanterns need to be near each other to reach their full potaintal
It is both the strongest and the weakest at the same time. It weakens or completely negates red and yellow energy and makes green energy more powerful then it could ever be on its own. But hope alone can do vary little it neend will = green orone of the other posetive energy rings working with it. Just like in life hope alone is not enough, if you never act on your hopes
Kinda reminds me of Kung fu panda with the reflection being the answer, Walker climbed that mountain in search of someone who could save the planet, but in doing so he proved that he himself was that person.
