came back today to watch it again and its exactly what i was thinking. everything in this trailer is perfect, still one of the best trailers till this day
@@chowder3239 yeah it sold well because it was marketed to 13 year olds -- right down the the inclusion of an adult swim radio station playing background music from your favourite teen shows...
Man I recently played the remastered version to SR3 and the intro mission alone is way better than anything that was in the reboot. We didn’t know how good we had it. This franchise is done for now.
Probably because they don't wear their assigned role like textbook cliche stereotypes. The designers didn't try to make their character types as obvious as possible. The characters in this trainer *show* who they are with actions. The Boss and Loren show they are lead-from-thr-front badasses without uttering a single word.. Kenzie doesn't need to wear an outfit that screams "I'm the smart one!" because we see her glued to her laptop even as the bullets fly. Johnny takes a bullet for his boss and is immediately pulled back to his feet. He didn't need to dress (or undress) like a madman to show us his Blood Knight tendencies. That they had to try so hard to make these characters stand out screams a lack of subtlety. They've been designed as obviously as possible because they think their audience is that dumb.
@@KyrieKirigiri Yup. Phillipe Loren, a dark foil of the boss, is killed within a couple hours and replaced by a f***ing pro-wrestler. The trailer also implied the script would be flipped. You'd be the gang at the top playing defense against the competition. Oh well, we still have Saints Row 2.
Ano right aha but nah i 100% this game when it came out and i still think that saints row 1 and 2 were the best in the series. The third was a bit too cartoonish and the map was dreadful tbh and lets not talk about saints row 4...
@@Nisikaa_ well too be fair they don’t even look “tough” they attempted the agenda I guess and it fell on its face. But we aren’t forced to have a female protagonist like I feared
Vault420 it's too bad that compared to the first two saints row games this one doesn't even come close the third and fourth games should have definitely been spin off titles
@@tomebasic2843 I played 99% of them the 1% is sr1 I'm trying to be hyped for the new game because I heard alot of good gameplay elements despite the shit cgi trailer of the new sr game
@@Trilliman707 well, I'd like to see actual gameplay so I footage to judge it, but that still won't change the fact that the characters look extremely lame...
@@tomebasic2843 I agree but as long as I can make my main character look cool and Pic another voice actor I will be fine I heard there is over 8 different voice options u can pick that means 4 for male and 4 for female
@@Browninthadesert Didn't their parent company go bankrupt and they got bought out? How do we even know any of these devs are the same that made the OG Saints Row?
To be fair Loren was dead by the time you met Kinzie and Angel; Both he and Kiki were dead, Viola joined you, and the Morningstar were no longer a threat by the time STAG showed up. So, the trailer is really not trying to be accurate.
Even casts for this game was so insane, from Voice Actors (Troy Baker, Yuri Lowenthal, Andrew Bowen) to Movie Actors (Burt Reynold, Danielle Dae Kim) to Wrestlers (Hulk Hogan, Rob Van Dam) to Pornstar (Sasha Grey)
The memories. Coming home after freshman year. No cares in the world Turing my PlayStation 3 on inviting me best friend over going up to my room with a book bag full of snacks. Playing until midnight..... being old sucks
@@fictiong6247 I do. My entire Twitter feed is full of people shitting on SR after a cinematic trailer that shows VERY little. If Twitter hates the trailer, how can you call it “twatter row”? Also, I use Reddit every day, and it’s not much better than Twitter. Just a bunch of echo chambers repeating the same shit to each other in order to affirm their beliefs.
@@ibannash 4 was still fun and still saints row but went abit over the top. The reboot is not saints row at all, franchise is dead thanks to Volition giving into the woke agenda
I agree! I used to love SR. I remember when this trailer got out I was so hyped up to get this game. Until I finished the story I was like "wth just happened?" And once I saw the SR4 trailer and game play I was so disappointed. Sr 1 & 2 will always be the best and the third will always have the best trailer.
I love how Playa’s default skins went from bald white dude in SR1, cool black dude in SR2, then skinny white dude in SR3, and then to Giga Chad wannabe in SR4… and then too loser college person in reboot…
Its sad seeing a franchise you cherish, reduced to nothing but a joke of a reboot. Its nothing like saints row and its not going to be without either the gritty gangster come up story or the wacky silliness of 3 and 4. Makes you apricate games back in the day that had a sense of humor
Its gonna be a gang of snowfalkes with strong indipendent w0men that gonna crush the patriarchy, a diverse set of characters from all races, emotional weak man, and of course white man are gonna be the villinus gangs. F*ck I miss old saints row, that was just a fun game that laughed at everything and everyone equally.
I remember that back in 2011/2012 I was choosing between this game and Red Dead Redemption Undead Nightmare. I was behind my laptop showing my mother the two games, and she said she liked this one more, and boy did I like it. I really miss these times, almost no homework, no liabilities, just a 12/13 year old kid having some fun time on my PS3 after school. I will never forget the experiences I had with my friends back then, too bad I don't see anyone from that time. :( The times have changed for the worse and all I can do is look forward to a brighter future with a possibility of bad games, because after 2012 the videogame industry received a massive downfall.
Federal Bureau of Investigation no... look at saints row 4 on any console and pc. Even on high settings with no mods. It is way better than saints row 4 graphically.
Joseph and like i said they just upgraded the lighting more than anything and still its a third party doing the remaster not volition it also doesnt run at 60 fps i would rather have sr2 remake then ol boring steelport looking a little bit more sunny and nicer
I loved this game, it was a whole new engine so alot of stuff was changed. If they go back to layered customization for characters and went back to the whole crew/ganster feel it would work. Plus adding back fighting styles and walking styles will help add to a more customized character then the generic stuff most games have. Pretend the 4th and gat out of hell was all a dream. Superpowers are cool, but didnt feel like a Saints Row game.
I can't understand why you say you love this game, but then hate the 4th when the fourth had the same city. The Third was heavily down-graded from 2, there was barely anything in it.
starkiller007 I never said I hated the 4th. I just didn't like the direction the story/franchise was going. I loved the super powers and the new customizations with the guns in the 4th, but it didn't have a traditional Saints Row feel. Instead of recruiting homies to drive around and shoot stuff I was playing super hero.
No, the story arc wasn't included. The story arc would have concluded with finding and killing Dex. Which was hinted at in a Saints Row DLC. The Third had zero to do with the story arc of the previous game. The fourth wasn't a totally new game, because it literally uses the same city and features and characters.
Man I miss trailers like this I miss this game so much wish I could go back in time to live another day to play this game along listening to the theme.
Oh I know! Game's nowadays don't have a hype trailer anymore, or any trailer anymore that gets anyone stoked for a game. Everything is too cinematic and dare I say it, rather corporatize.
@@shabs4144 agreed. We need the old saints row back. It’s dead and we can’t count on any good new games but we need 1 and 2 remastered it’s only fair if they do 3 they do 1 and the goat 2.
@@aloneinthepark2361 or with the gat out hell ending where gat is a cop. That could be a good starting point, all the characters being different things and them going together to create the saints in this universe
I think even if he was killed at the beginning of the game, Lauren is still mentioned in almost every mission (that is, he left a big mark in the city). He held an entire city, a syndicate, a gang. The rest of the gangs were scrastic and did not inspire fear at all, they only wanted power and money. They thought they were the coolest. But Lauren is the coolest ♡
This is a trailer that gets me hyped for a franchise. There's nothing I can say that hasn't already been echoed by the fanbase. Maybe in 10 years time we will get an actual reboot with the crew.
It’s possible but if volition fail to get enough sells in the if you can so can next saints row it’s possible that they can go bankrupt like their other studios did when saints row the third was released for a while and I feel like more studios are definitely gonna get shut down based on what we have been given but we gotta wait for actual gameplay to see if it can still be lit but I’m not thinking of pre ordering tho…
You really couldn't, rich scum bags sure but idek what you guys consider gangster. Probably some suburban kids watching too many films making comments like these. Straight ignorant.
