@@Deuteromis much worse, they legit used the same engine with no bugfixes or optimization. At least with 4 they can pawn it off as "simulation glitches"
i liked it solely for how ridiculous it was. they wanted to stand out from GTA with this one, which is crazy considering how GTA is taking things from this game n putting them in GTA Online, prime example is the flying motorbike
Terra Jae It’s that Rockstar polish. If Saints Row 4 and 3 was made with the same level of detail and polish as Rockstars game it would be considered a cult classic
....which is not that ridiculous, i guess. when i think "super ridiculous" i dont think of trailing missions or clearing out small groups of the same enemy over and over.
I booted the game up for the first time again since 2016, and it's like I never left off. I kinda want the remaster, but I need to finish 3 and move to 4.
My main gripe with Saints Row 3 is how lazily some activities were just shoved in as mainline missions. In SR1 and SR2 the activities and story missions were heavily separated, If you went into a story mission you knew it's gonna be something unique. In SR3 Pierce calls you to destroy Syndicate property and...it's just a tank activity. Kinzie asks you to help her and it's...helicopter protection activity. All of Angel's missions are activities too. Third of stpry missions are just half assedly shoved activities disguised as story missions.
I played an beat it on 360 back in the day and then played and beat the remaster... I honestly thoroughly enjoyed every moment of both playthroughs. I recognize how insane and silly the game is...but man I loved all of it.
The game is bad outside of the wackiness. Saints row 3s main missions are all side activities from the previous games, the story has to be played linear and it lacks the balance of comedy and drama of the first 2, the city is dull and lifeless, and the "gangs" are all just one gang. It's sad that people defend uninspired garbage like sr3 and 4, but they'll claim sr2 was just a clone (even though it did everything better than GTA)
@@improbablyyourdad8458 and then gta copys saints row and ruins it's self by adding the pussy bike MK2 and all that crap that's literally copied from SR3
I'm glad I heard someone criticize the AI. It makes half of the activities completely unplayable. I can't tell you how many times I've been on the verge of screaming when I fail an activity right before completing it because Zimos slow motion ran in place right next to the car door as a fire brute blew it up.
“Hmm Sasha grey is a actually a really good voice actor. I wonder what other projects she’s been featured on? Wait..” -my innocence. 2000- November 15 2011.
Saints Row 3 is such a downgrade from 2, which is one of my favorite games. The second did a good job at making you feel like a gang going head to head with other gangs, with an interesting plot for each gang. The third does none of this imo
The customization in this game is actually lacking ALOT when you’re African American ... There’s only like 4 black guy hair styles and most of them are terrible
This is why more Black people need to get into game development, it's the _only_ way we'll ever see better representation in video games. You really can't expect non-diverse development teams to put effort in "minority" character creation. Designers are almost always going to design in their likeness and we're not apart of that likeness. We aren't the target audience, we aren't who they envision as apart of their player base. The only way you'll ever see multiple Black/African hairstyles in a video game is if a Black person was apart of the design team or if the game is centered around Black/African people. The greatest example of a game getting it right would be NBA 2K. The sport is not only predominately Black but basketball is apart of our culture, not to mention an African-American is on the design team. So they have every reason to make a character creator that appeals to us. But RPG's and other adventure type games? They were sadly not designed to appeal to us in any significant way. They'll make 20 straight hairstyles while we get 3 at the most (generic fro, generic cornrows and generic dreads), not counting the all-purpose buzzcut. It's worse if you're roleplaying as a Black female, you typically have no options unless you want to look like a butch lesbian from D-block. Even San Andreas had better options compared to Saints Row, Cyberpunk, etc. We just have to face the fact that most of these games aren't made with us in mind. I've seen it over and over throughout the years... Fallot, Elder Scrolls, Mass Effect, Saints Row, Kingdoms of Amalur, Dragon Age, Dragons Dogma, the list goes on. That can change if more Black people entered the gaming industry. Otherwise, get used to this playa (SR reference).
Having played saints row 2 and saints row 3 back to back recently, Saints row 3 is A LOT worse than I remember. Saints row 2 had an interesting environment, best example I can give is like beginning the game, running around doing missions and hearing pedestrians speak about "The Pyramid" and coming to the conclusion that The Pyramid is a real place hidden under a mountain, used as a research and development lab for equipment that references Voilition's Red Faction game, as Ultor is the bad organisation in that too. It gave a sense of holy shit, I wonder what else is around this world I haven't discovered. Every gang take over thing was far more interesting in s2 than a repetitive and generic, buy a property and instantly receive the area around it or, take out a small group of the gang in the middle of nowhere that somehow represents the entire area they occupy, that stands in saints row 3. In saints row 2, you would enter a building and find out that the Ronin have an illicit casino operating under it and you destroy their means of capital and assets then kill lieutenants, or set a whole district on fire burning Samedi Drug labs. Each Gang was incredibly unique, and yet believable in their own rights, all occupying believable areas, ronin in the higher class parts of the city, in bed with the Ultor corp, Animals controlling the docs, hardcore motorheads with the whole monster truck derby or rockstar vibes, and Samedi around the universities and factories districts influencing students to work for them. You felt like every mission mattered, excited to see what happens next in each of their different stories. Remember when first facing Mr Sunshine and he uses a VooDoo doll on you? Remember holding Carlos's hand, a kid that helped you back on your feet and only wanted to prove himself, as he laid there dying and you had to put him out of his misery, remember Burying Shogo alive at Shaundi's funeral after he tried to ambush it has his 2nd in command killed her?... the cinematics were really good for the time honestly feeling as if almost all gang conclusion killing were satisfying and badass. Saints row 3 feels like a shell of that. It feels repetitive and if we are all being honest, killing a couple people with a deadly dildo is fun for about 20 mins, and past that you really wonder what else the game has to offer. The story means little, the 'Underdog to King' feeling isn't there as you just buy your way to the top not earn it, even when you do buy the property and so on, you can't really upgrade anything. You can upgrade 3 building, which all end up looking exactly the same on the inside and no choice for decor and so on like saints row 3 had (Another visual representation of your progression from the slums to the top). The initial underground club in Saints row 2 was also really cool seeing that developed as you progress through the story. You literally get the best and only apartment you need a couple missions in to the game in s3. You cant even buy cars now? what's the point of money in saints row 3 apart from making the game easier by buying health upgrades?..... I'm not saying that they should stop over the top things, but I think not making it the entire game would be better.. try a little depth in character development, story or specific mission development. I feel like it's going the same way as fast and furious franchise and you never hear anyone say "Fast and Furious 6 was my favourite"... no one even knows what happens in it because after Fast and furious 4 they all become an over the top big explosion fiesta of movies that have no substance or progression apart from bigger explosions or heists that make rich people richer like it even matters. I feel like that may work for 2 to 3 hours worth of mindless entertainment every now and then but won't work for a triple-A title worth roughly 30 hours of gameplay of just explosions and kids sex jokes in the long run. That's what I feel anyway, don't know how many people agree with it but would be interesting to know
its ok.. this is mine too like i don't know why i'm rejecting the third so hard even if a lot think its fun 😭 i guess this is why??? i think since i started from 2 instead of three? i feel so weird for not appealing to it dude, i really do.. and i spent two bucks on this thing!! you explain it pretty well tbh i love crazy stuff and humor. i just wish they handled it well. the fact that the gameplay, setting, and the story isn't as well played as the crazy overshadows and actually even irks me. kid me not SR 2 had things like septic tank spilling and trailblazing chaos but they were there and it was even made with reason lmao and it was ok with me
As a person who only played Third and IV (and watched cutscenes of previous 2 dozens of times on YT) I dont mind how the series turned out with jumping the shark. You gotta remember THQ started to falling down, and they got tired of complaiments how "its a gta knockoff!!!" so they decided that they will go even crazier. I'm gonna replay The Third soon again to check if I still think the game is good but eh I dont mind it. Tbh The Third still has its dark moments. I know a lot of peiole call this story dogshit and how its too wack(y) but I really disagree. The main theme of the game is revenge and getting more commercial. I think Johnny Gat comment on what happened to Saints is kinda meta due to how older fans feel about the franchise now and the bad and good ending indicates it. If you choose to save friends, you prove Gat's point how they became corporate whores. But if you choose bad ending (which i reccomend - imo it actually makes this game darker and seem to appeal more to SR2 fans) you maintain the spirit that Saints arent to fuck with, but it makes The Boss "the dreaded". Its implied his friends arent here because of respect but because of fear. So bassicly you made Gat's happy, but in the end Pierce asks you "was it really worth it" and you can answer Bassicly The Third is kinda a mess, but i dont think its that bad, and still retains its spirit, meanwhile IV goes fully to embrace its dumber side (which was my first SR and have huge soft spot on it, but I would sit here and write for another 15 minutes whats the problem with the game) and seemed to went the series downhill
I remember having a lot of fun playing 3, but the problem is that's ALL I remember about it besides the intro level. There are scenes and moments in 2 that stick with me to this day...mostly Carlos's death and fighting the Ronin at the hideout. I'm really starting to feel like they should remaster the first 2 games since they're the only ones in the series that are actually about the Saints as a gang.
That's the problem with gaming today. Audiences now are used to hollywood like production and very serious games. I miss games that weren't afraid to be over the top and took risks. It's easy to criticize a game like this cause of its wildness. It's harder to criticize alot of games now cause they all are two sides of the same coin and aren't unique.
Shame they dropped the gritty realism. Granted the first game was a little rough but there was something unique about it. The second game added just enough wonkiness to make it perfect.
The creator let me construct a shockingly accurate Les Grossman. Best playthrough ever. Seriously, Les Grossman and Mayor Burt Reynolds made my decade.
6:51, Surprisingly, this isn't just a conveniently placed Metal Chandelier. This is a TMD, or a Damper. It's used to absorb seismic shockwaves in skyscrapers so they don't collapse when a earthquake hits. They weight anything from 300-800 tons.
Is sr3 fun? Yes, tons. Is it a good game, storywise? Fuck no. It's like they either changed the writers or they started to believe they were incredibly hilarious when slapping references and parodies of Mass Effect and the Matrix. I like playing it and even liked some characters, but that doesn't mean I like what they did to it as a whole, especially to Shaundi, whose talents/abilities/usefulness from sr2 was stripped from her and divided between Kinzie and Viola. "Oh but her change makes sense cause Gat got killed and affected her". Yeah, imagined if instead of The Godfather 3, they wrote a piece were aliens attack earth and they kill Michael Corleone's daughter. He then gets bitter and hates aliens and wants to destroy them. Do his feelings make sense? Yes. But storywise WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU PUTTING ALIENS IN A MAFIA GAME? Same with Saints Row. If they wanted a wacky game they should have created a new franchise, instead of shitting on this one and its original story. Remember when Carlos got killed? The story and gameplay was handled so good that you felt utter hatred towards the brotherhood. As much as I liked Gat, avenging him wasn't my first priority cause they way it was handled made me feel nothing, just like the "Oh no...! Anyways..." meme
stag was stupid. matt was stupid especially with the avatars. zimos… killbane was annoying to a certain extent. angel was very annoying. new shaundi was irritating. pierce was decent. oleg was decent. viola and kiki were good. loved kinzie. the ai wasn’t great but i cheated 98% of the time so i didn’t noticed it too much. the cribs were repetitive asf. annoyed me. the gunplay was good except the stag weapons. the clothing was cool just too repetitive. there was no serious tone. johnny shouldn’t have died. shaundi didn’t need to turn sexy. the saints didn’t need to become a media franchise. the zombie shit wasn’t needed. too many explosions. the endings were relatively pathetic. steelport is dumb asf. the gang customization was great. powder should’ve been accessible. i don’t think i’m forgetting anything.
I grew up watching James so himself, cow chop and the creatures end up in my videos from time to time. Also welcome aboard solider, be prepared for bad memes and a horrendous upload schedule
I like SR3 mostly for gameplay and visuals, and SR2 for story and setting, somthing about stillwater and the amount of personality and little details put into SR2 was captivating, if SR2 ran, looked and played as smoothly as SR3 i wouldn't care much about any other Saints row that came out after the second one
Customization is a deal breaker 4 me & SR2 was the best with vehicles, hairstyles, fighting styles, clothing, cribs, etc.. And the Pimp Cane shotgun is my #1 favorite weapon..
@@improbablyyourdad8458 it did,it had better character customisation, better looking models that doesn't wanna make me rip my eyeballs out of my face, better car customisation and better gameplay, sr2 was only better in term of map and thats it
@@katt1172 not really, customization and clothing style in sr3 is terrible compared to sr2, same with cars and in sr3 their's less cars compared to 2 as well. Sr2 also had a more well though and better written story. Sr2 also had more side activities for you to do Sr2 also had map interactivity, something that is misding in the later titles. Besides the gameplay, sr3 didn't improve anything from sr2 they just tried to make a new game without thinking about what made the first two games so good
I didn't remember the game buggy, the driving wasn't GTA standard but it does the job. The game is way better and batshit crazy than this guy makes it to be.
According to angry Joe 3 had a lot of writing and mission design problems which were fixed in 4. Is the remaster completely different cause no one is talking about this now.
@@MGrey-qb5xz I'm Playing a bit of the remaster right now, it's pretty much just the original PS3 game but with much better lighting, effects, and character designs
Ur tripping big time, yeah the city and story was underwhelming, but the game play is stupid fun, the free running, weapons and vehicles make this game amazing
@@memelord6335 a meh story and a dildo bat. Yeah mate for me personally there’s just no real fun past an hour or two of this game, just my opinion. It let me down from saints row 2
Yes, at some point you just get acclimatized to how insane the later games are and the "crazy fun" just becomes predictable and the new normal and gets less entertaining the more deeper you get in to the game. Also I really want the boss to be feared again. I really dislike the "puckish rogue" persona they have and miss the cold depraved psychopath of SR2, especially in the brotherhood campaign the shit you do is kinda really dark.
I respectfully disagree with you, i loved everything about sr3 i do think that saints row 2 was better though, when i was a kid, this game was legendary to me, the whole series still is
@@okcool6948 and i respectfully disagree, 3 and 4 are amazing for what they are, it just shouldnt be called saints row and should be turned into spin-off series
@@mikoaj5002 the dumbest shit I ever heard , “ they’re good for what they are “ well dumb ass they were sold as Saints row games so please stfu tryna sound intelligent when you really just pasted something you seen somebody else say . Anyone who defends 3 or 4 and has no ammunition at all 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Gonna be honest, i loved saints row 3, its insane and kamp story only adding to how funny testosterone filled it was. (Gat shouldn't have died tho, cant forgive that tho)
Don't need anyone to change my mind on the fact Saint row the third is my favourite game ever. The goofy larger than life aspects is exactly what I love from it. Tho SR4 pushes it into a weird less desirable direction, 3 is the blend I absolutely adore even after playing SR 2.
The zombies creeped me out as a kid I always avoided that middle island when that section got messed up, something about that section being the only one with zombies always added to the creepiness some how
@@stormdesertstrike I dont think I ever beat saints row 2 so i didnt even know there were zombies, but I played it as a 12-13 year old while having an existential crisis, yk fears of dying, what comes next, shit like that, and I remember that scene where one of the gang leaders drags your boy (think his name was Carlos? Maybe?) Behind his truck w the chains, shit stuck with me for a minute
@@Codduct fs when id cross the bridge to go to the third island id haul ass cause all the red dots that popped on the map gave me anxiety 😭😭😭 I would've braved it all for an angry latina tho 😤😤😤
I jumped into Saints Row 3 without even playing the 2nd one and istg, it's one hell of an experience I've had. Might as well play Saints Row 2 when I have the time.
Alex Webb- NO, I have never looked for a gta v level of realism in any saints row game and that includes now. With all of the seemingly never ending crap of gta v online and given how badly Rockstar F'ed up the gta remastered trilogy, I don't mind at all if Volition goes a little over the top with the new saints row game coming out later this year.

Oh no my memories are being brought back. Such good times...
Incredible editing it must have taken a while to construct and think of all the things you put in it. Crazy good effort and it paid off too because it's absolute quality
One big problem I have with saints row 3 is I cannot make my character from the first and second games even though you're supposed to be playing the same character because the customization options are completely different.
That's such a bad excuse, Saints Row was SUPPOSED to be grounded in reality... The reason the first two games were so great is because they combined the serious story and wacky moments which never went balls to the walls and it worked extremely well, SR3 and 4 just became a 12 year old's fantasy wet dream and they distanced those games so further from the series' origins it became a shadow of it's former self.
@@VenomBio There was barely anything semi-real about 3, the game literally starts off with an armory raid and shit like the penetrator exists. It's slightly less nonsense than 4 but it's nonsense all the same.
The Zombies are actually a pretty good way to slowly but surely grind some cash, if up to that point in the game, you haven’t invested any time in the Activities and haven’t purchased any properties to boost your hourly income.
it wouldve been a lot better to see cyrus as the big bad of sr3, and kia as the one who defects to the terrorist organization in 4, and it would make. a hell of a lot more sense.
I can't possibly be the only kid in the world that made my character as buff as he could be with a afro/non human character colors when this banger dropped.
it was my first saints row. I liked it a lot, but i couldn't get into 4 so i forgot the franchise existed. This year i played saints row 2 for the first time and it became my favorite open world ever. 2 is so much better than 3.
I used to love sr3 so much as a teenager Now I'm 27 I played the remaster and just can't do it. It's such a chore The story takes way too long to progress and every time I think I'm doing the next story mission it's actually a side activity in my list of missions with no impact on story The jokes are still hilarious but I can't be fucked playing it Back in the day it was one of my favourite games Now it's a sad uninstall
@MrDjBigZ There's literally no point to that though, SR3 Remastered is plenty cheap when on sale and includes everything. Plus it straight up makes Steelport just not feel dead anymore and makes the character models look less like rubber dolls.
Editing: 100% Laughter: ALOT! XD Bro this was just too funny of just describing a game man keep up the hilarious content my guy. You've got yourself a Subscriber!
The worst part of saints row 3 is the fact that it somehow has less content than the second game, less guns, less cheats, jokes, no multiple fighting styles, etc. after you beat the game the world is just dead, the map is really really bad as well the second game has the best map in any open world game ever and the third has the most generic boring open world map ever. You also can’t downgrade your guns, the gangs were under utilized like the second game. It’s funny every saints main game is good they just never live up to the second games standard.
Personally I like to see the gangstas in space ending as them blending the revival as a gang with the corporate life. Using the powers of copyright to rob Killbane of his identity by having him be a character in their media property. Honor Gat in having his comic be made into a movie and still profiting hard and if we take the game as actually happening and movie just being something they do. They still do all the hard gangster shit
The problem with 3, its a big downgrade of 2, each gang you deal with in 3 missions, you stub the gangs toe and theyre done, SR1 and 2 you actually physically cripple the gangs 8 main missions and a handful of strongholds
Yeahhh sorry, it's just you, you are a bad driver. The handling was vastly improved over the original SRTT's lighter more skittish driving mechanics tbh with the cars also feeling more weighted imo too. This remaster put more effort in than GTA V's with a mere graphics bump and DLC's merged in plus a few changes LOL. Though it's not as polished it does count more as a remaster.
Yeah, I instantly loved the driving in 3. Even as a big fan of 1 and 2, I enjoyed the actual look and feel of 3 alot more. 1 and 2 were pretty basic and just kinda blah to look at. The driving, shooting and overall action of 2 just wasn't super satisfying. The look and feel of 3 with the story and soul of 2 would be amazing.
You're stupid for various reasons: Cars shifted gears infinitely, cars barely shifted weight to the corresponding side of their turns, drifting was horrendously arcade-ish and felt like sliding on a soap bar, car customization wasn't anything great compared to two, damage physics made the cars look like tinfoil, driving physics felt like I was stuck to the ground where the cars barely jump off the ground in ramps, and last but not least, they didn't improve the car's speeds at all.
Pierce is literally the worst AI in a game. I remember this one missions where he kept shooting and blowing up a vehicle that we were not supposed to kill. Literally lost my shit
Tbh the remastered sr3 was kinda…good and bad, not only did I go on a nostalgia trip, the models scared me, specifically Matt miller when we were defeating him in his cyber world, he looked like a freaking mannequin there!
When the remaster came out, me and a friend picked up the game again.....we just couldn't stick with it. Despite the wackiness, we were just bored of it. The second game is still our favourite, however if we were to play that game again I don't know if we'd feel the same. I dunno, 3 just didn't grab our interest at all the second time around.
As a youngin I replayed the Kanye power mission like 500 times just to get jumping out of the helicopter with the music playing idc how bad it is it gave me everything I could ask from a saints row game which the predecessors did not
In saints row 3 I prefer to own the Morningstar tower rather than blow it up because you get the funny scene of a giant bomb rolling threw the streets causing chaos
I HATE that this was the game they remastered, why part 3? why not the first and try to fix the issues, or the second since it was the best. But no sure, this one.
SR3 looks good enough. If I can grab sr3 for less than 5$ on steam, then why I should buy remaster? But remastering 2 would be perfect. Finally good graphic + it would work
From sr1 to sr2 pretty much everything was improved but from sr2 to sr3 everything felt downgraded from the openworld, the rival gangs, the story, and even the boss wasn't as cool as in sr2
