If Saitama had the ability to fly, he could throw the meteor back into space, but decided to punch it into bits. If he hadn't done that, it would've destroyed everything, the civilians should be grateful to be alive.
I love starting this argument: If not for Genos and Metal Knight, Saitama would have obliterated that meteor on impact as a solid mass. The rain of peat gravel and dust would have still been an issue, but not as bad as car/building sized boulders raining down. Metal Knight started the fracture, Genos deepened that damage and got the entire thing hot (softening it), causing the brute force of Saitama's blow to break it into larger chunks (he wouldn't have gone _through_ it as easily, would have smashed it on impact)
counter argument: the meteor is already too hot for Genos to make a difference, Metal knight’s firepower is just not enough to even dent the meteor and Saitama is simply too strong so the meteor shatters. All of this facts were pretty clearly demonstrated
Why don't people understand that if the meteor falls wholly the entire earth would have destroyed but because of saitama only one city destroyed and whole earth is saved. People often underestimate worthy persons
I call that idiocy. Doing that is beneficial only when you know your death would actually save someone. But he is just throwing away his life knowing very well that his death also can't protect people. At this point, he is just a suicidal brat to me.
