Having watched season 1 and 2 a million times, I would 100% say the manga is worth reading, especially considering season 2. The OPM manga is not only great because of the story of course, but it also has some of the best looking manga art of all time. I never read manga before either, but waiting for season 3 made me read it all, and like I said it is great and arguably better than the anime imo

While you’re waiting for Season 3 to come out I’d highly recommend watching Mob Psycho 100. It’s written by the same guy and the animation is fantastic.

I’m a diehard anime > manga with most series, but the OPM manga is just incredible. It honestly feels more animated than season 2 at times. The artwork is insane.

The manga now is starting to reach top tier power scaling, even above that.

The manga for One punch man is stellar. Absolutely stellar

I hate reading books but I love reading manga!!!! I’d highly recommend reading the manga!! Its just like watching the show, the story flows so well that it’s like your watching a movie or something which is probably why i like reading manga more then reading books. I even enjoy it more than reading comics, which I used to enjoy greatly…till the stories started being stupid!!! Like what they did to the punisher…I’ll never forgive them for that!!! The one punch man manga panels are insane and it probably does take forever to draw & adapt it!! I feel extremely bad for the ppl who has to do the next part of the story!!! Cuz it’s the craziest part of the story with all kinds of scenes full of destruction & monsters & hero’s fighting! It’s crazy!! I can’t wait to see it!!

Zombieman is awesome in the manga, he has such great sections. Never watched season 2 so I guess I'll see what happens.

Something you have to understand about animation across the board is that they all use still shots, they all recycle shots. There are people, with lives, and families to return home to. These animators already sleep at their desks. If there is just talking, we don't have to watch them talk, its cheaper and easier to have two characters talking but never show their mouth. Its just tools of the trade and you should take that into consideration before saying the animation quality is bad. Its not lol.

About the beginning debate, I do not watch OPM for a deep story, it's story is fine at best, because it aims so be a parody of most concepts. It's really not that serious, it has some meaningful moments, but that's it. The deepest thing about OPM is the emptiness Saitama feels as the strongest. So what I'm saying is, even if season 2 had season 1s animation, I'd still prefer season 1 because of Boros alone. Boros vs Saitama is such a beautiful fight. I just LOVE it visually so much. And season 2s grander plot hasn't gotten anything like that yet, maybe season 3 will, depending on the pacing, but OPM never had pacing problems so I believe season 3 will get to the JUICY stuff, and if that got animated as well as Boros vs Saitama, then yes, it would be the better season. But because OPM is not that much about a deep, interesting plot, I value sheer wow factor much more than I do in other series. Like, if JJK didn't have such good fight animations it would still be a PHENOMENAL plot. If OPM didn't look so good, it would be an average comedy anime. So I value the visualy of OPM as the most important thing in the anime. That being said, I think people cry too much about season 2. It's the same propblem as Avatar the last Airbender vs Korra. Korra is a good series, it has it's problems but is overall pretty good. But it is VASTLY overshadowed and obviously constantly compared to the first series. OPM has the same issue. Season 2 looks totally fine, but season 1 overshadows it and makes it look worse than it is in the minds of people.
