My grandfather was in Pakistan in 1947. Came to India in partition. We are very hardworking from 4 generations. Had Muslims let people like us live there with dignity, then this day of begging bowl wouldn't have happened in Pakistan. We are very well settled now in India from 1960 onwards. Jai Hind 🇮🇳. The second part is what steps are needed to retrieve the situation OR is the situation is NOT retrievable. Wherein are the best options? Should Pakistan consider selling it's nuclear weapons? Before 1947, Punjab (United) was the most prosperous province of British India and the communal divide between Hindu s/Sikhs and Muslims wasn't heard much. Both Congress and Muslim League weren't the overwhelming power there. There was a party called Unionist Party (which was essentially a party of peasants and zamindars and was secularist in character) had won 1937 and 1942 elections and had formed the government in Punjab. Sir Sikandar Hayat Khan was a popular Chief Minister of the Unionist Party (and Sir Chhotu Ram was the famous Agricultural Minister). The communal divide (and riots etc) were more pronounced in Bengal (Calcutta and Murshidabad etc), Kerala, UP and Central Provinces. Somehow, we find all those areas, happily living and prospering in India and Punjab (a divided place). I think, Punjabis, the Unionists should have put their determined foot down in 1947 and kicked Jinnah Plan out. United Punjab would have been a wonderful state of United India.
