“Well done” to Bara Bet for those insightful picks! 🎉 If you love a deep dive into sports like Roy's banter on baseball or the gems about hurling, you’ll definitely appreciate Bara Bet’s free picks. Give them a look!
“I don’t feel like an Ian” 😂 absolutely love this show. It is so hard to get genuine chemistry, but these 4 have bags full of it. Great idea to start the show with just talking about anything and going down rabbit holes of different conversation topics. That really works so well. Great show, keep going. “Well done” as one of the only Gary’s left in the world would say.
Thanks Roy for mentioning the 8th wonder of the world; HURLING. Fellow sport fans, tune into the All-Ireland Hurling final on the 21st of July. Roy's county Cork vs Clare
@@samsativa245 It’s hard to understate how much of a legend Jimmy Barry Murphy is in Ireland, very few people win All-Ireland medals in gaelic football and hurling.
I wonder if they'd ever consider Jimmy Barry Murphy as a guest. He did play League of Ireland for a short while, and his son had a career in the EFL, and in management.
Even in their late 30s, Federer, Nadal and Djokovic still smacked the younger generation. Andy Murray did very well to become world number 1 in that era and is one of Tennis's greatest ever players
Agreed - 3 Grand Slams and maybe another 5 or 6 finals I can remember? Plus the ATP tour titles. No1 as you rightly say, when Djoko and Nadal were good. Same age roughly as Novak and Nadal and had to play against prime Federer on many occasions. He took his chances well, and he left no stone unturned in arriving at the places he needed to be. Beast of a counter puncher turned all round legend.
@gelpen91 Prime fed was before Murray arrived, Nadal was out injured when Murray was no 1 and Djok had yet to sort the mental aspect of his game then. He found a little period in the big 3 to be on top
@janakipejov3667 He was actually massively bullied by the English media until Henman retired and they didn't have one of their own to support. For years after he was British until he lost and then back to being Scotish until he actually won at the Olympics and a slam.
Roy please bring Gary and Co to the All Ireland Hurling Final in a couple of weeks!! Cork vs Clare!! Then we can show them what a real sport is like!!!😊
@@JohnSmith-sm7ez Hurling is 3,000 years old and was used to train warriors before battle. There's literally nothing a tennis player could do, that a hurler couldn't, but I'd love to see a Federer running full speed balancing a ball on something 1/4 the size of his racket, while Nadal, Djokovic and Murray are swinging sticks at him.. 😂 There's no comparison
@Arjv23000 It is true. Saka had never taken a penalty as a professional until that penalty shoot out. That's why many people were outraged with Southgates decision to throw a kid under the bus like he did.
Kudos to Ian Wright for defending Andy Murray's career. It's hard when you got that much injury and playing against all time greats like Federer, Nadal, Djokovic. Greatest british tennis player ever. Good luck with your retirement Andy Murray, respect ❤️
Unfortunately Murray lacked the mentality to be on the same level consistently as Djokovic, Nadal and Federer. Too many times Murray took a set off whilst he sulked at everything against him. Great player and had the game, but he was not focused enough to claim the big moments. Top level Sport comes down to fine margin and he was lacking, often sulking and shouting at his team instead of channelling that frustration in to his game.
I've been having a difficult time of late both mentally and physically, but these videos never fail to pick me up and bring a smile to my face. I absolutely love the relationship between you 4 (and Carra when he's on) but man Wrighty and Roy could go on a tour - they're like an old married couple!
@@celtic4862 The GAA could probably sort them out with premium tickets, they had Jeff Stelling and Kammy doing the commentary a few years ago, Michel Platini was over for the hurling some years ago too.
@@shaunaqpaul3078 Well it's a good thing I'm talking about his current form for ENGLAND and not how he performed throughout the season. Not every criticism is glazing or hating lol. They just simply avoided an interesting conversation about Kane that was similar to some of the points about Ronaldo, but instead they just said "Gareth can't drop their biggest goalscorer".
@@nemanjap8768it’s not like that at all. If he went somewhere like Silverstone he’d have a better experience. You get to see and appreciate the speed they go around corners and most places have big screens where you can watch the action you’re missing with audio. It does help if you understand F1 and know the ins and outs of the circuit etc. I bet Gary was just invited and doesn’t know much about F1
If you do have Denis Irwin on please ask him about his hurling career. From what I've read he could have been one of Cork's greatest ever hurlers. Apparently he marked Niall Quinn in a minor (u-18) match, playing at centre back, which generally is a position a taller player plays in, unless they're very very good (an equivalent of Fabio Cannavaro). Thank you!
I could never forget it. My cousin was there that day. It was hell not knowing for hours whether he was alive or dead. I can forgive Roy as Murray has never made a big deal of it (publicly at least), so it's not something I'd expect him to remember
I love the curmudgeonly Keane, his demeanour is perfect comedy cover in a great tradition of British and Irish humour that I have found many cultures outside don’t understand and mis represent it as grumpiness.
I think they’re a little confused and some are on about the smith one in the worlds final and the others are on about this year’s premier league final. Littler hit 6 perfect darts, Humphries hit 5 perfect darts. Littler then followed it with finishing the 9 darter.
He’s probably the only footballer that could cut it. Yoy have to play through getting hacked on the wrists and broken bones. Been there not worth the pains later 😂
Pundits when England lose on penalties : *Yeah, it's a coin flip. A lottery.* Pundits when England win on penalties: *Y'know, now that I think about it, it's not about luck. It's skill.*
Will Never not love Keano. But he's massively wrong on this one. Nothing was expected of Murray considering British players had done really nothing in the game for 70-80 years. Had the odd high point in the mens game in David Lloyd and Tim Henman and along comes a wee boy from Dunblane to win Double Wimbledons , Olympic gold, Us open including multiple semis and finals. In an Era, as the Great Ian Wright said with some of the greatest around at the one time. Give the respect where it's due.
very true and well said, but what gets a lot of the tennis fans riled up is when he is mentioned as the BIG FOUR... if winning couple of grand slams and a few semis was the criteria, then Stan Wawarinka and few others would get into that group as well... In short, it was always the Big Three in the last 15 years, no one else came close to dislodging them from the top
Federer , Nadal and djokovic called it the big four mate it was they 4 that was in most finals semi finals for 10 yrs and Murray had a way better career than Stan mate
@@ninjabearsinc2 Yeah I know what you mean. We can all over play our hand to be fair but at least Keano was sat at the top table in his field but I agree his dismissive-ness of others achievements can be a bit grating but that’s what also makes it kind of funny. It’s the delivery and timing. Thanks for the comment. Hope you’re good 👍
As an Irishman in Vancouver I can vouch for Ice hockeys excitement. The arenas are small but the crowds are pretty electric. Big hits, fights and fast paced game play. It’s pretty sick.
I’m not convinced about the Canucks this season. They started to put interesting pieces together last year but I’m not sure they are making the jump to the next level. Our Oilers are bringing the band back together plus adding some interesting pieces this season. I’m loving it. What a fun run that was this year. It would have been a hell of an experience for Roy to be in the Edmonton barn for game 6 of the Cup this year.
I just knew Roy would reference hurling, following Cork's massive Semi Final win last Sunday ! There were over 82,000 people at that semi final. He's correct that it's an amateur sport but they train like extreme professionals. BTW the Cork great Jimmy Barry Murphy's son, Brian Barry Murphy played League football for Sheffield Wednesday/Bury/Rochdale and has spent the last 3 years as Manager of Man City's Elite Development Squad.
Watching & liking a sport depends on how & where you're brought up, none of the panel could sit & watch a whole game Hurling with Roy, we love it because we were brought up with it.
@@leestephenfitzpatrick6373 don't generalise then. "We love it because we were brought upwith it" and then "to each his own". Your all over the place. Also its "their own" not "his own".
I was at the Cork and Limerick game in the hurling yesterday, one of the best games of hurling I've ever seen live. Roy needs to bring them over to witness the final.
I'm an Ian born in '96, I got to visit the Emirates when I was 14 years old and the stadium tour guide said my parents picked my club for me at birth, much love the states!
@@gomeze8230 I wish I could say I was but my parents didn't know much about football till I asked them to buy the EPL cable package cause I wanted to watch Thierry Henry play.
that ivan toney penalty was nuts, roy not giving him enough credit, to not look at the ball after placing it down and just looking direct at the keeper..he is quality
This has turned into one of the funniest shows currently to watch. These guys are hilarious and this should always continue. Could listen and laugh to these shows for years
That whole "throw the shackles off when 1-0 down" thing seems to be exclusive to Britain and Ireland. Its weird ,almost like we won't start properly until we absolutely know what we have to do
