In this episode I review the Sako 90 Peak. This rifle is a absolute beast, while being extremely lightweight yet astoundingly tough! All quality components and world class construction by Sako result in great shooter you can rely on for any hunting situation.

Sako is my favourite rifles, I’ve had a 75 in 7-08 for years and it’s awesome, the 90 and the S20 are both going to be added to the safe, good vid mate subbed, cheers Yogi ✌️

Its very nice but not worth the price IMO. But everything is overinflated today so one has to factor that in as well.

I know the Sakos and Tikkas are very accurate. But, are the Sako barrels slow like Tikkas? Only thing holding me back on a Sako 90 is I can't get the trigger weight down to a pound, maybe 1.5 pounds at most because I shoot left handed. Bix n Andy make a trigger for the Sako 85 though.
@ausguntv
@ausguntv 3 дня назад
@@Accuracy1st not sure what you mean by a slow barrel but mine is in 6.5 creedmoor with 1:8 twist which is considered ideal. The lightest you can set the trigger on the 90 Peak is 1.9 pounds. I believe that’s only because it’s a hunting rifle.
@Accuracy1st
@Accuracy1st 2 дня назад
@@ausguntv What I mean by slow barrel is compared to American made barrels, all of my Tikkas (which is a lot) shoot the same ammo on average 200fps slower. I'll give 1 example. I have a 30-06 with a Brux 10 twist barrel that shoots my handloaded 185 Berger VLD bullet over varget at 2650fps. It's slow but accurate. I have stainless and blued Tikka T3x 30-06s and none shoot that same ammo over 2420fps. It's the same story with my 270s, 7RemMags, 300WM, 300WSMs, etc.
@ausguntv
@ausguntv 2 дня назад
@@Accuracy1st that’s very interesting, I would have to say that would come down to the barrel length. If the barrels are shorter that would explain the drop in velocity.
@Accuracy1st
@Accuracy1st 2 дня назад
@@ausguntv Barrels are all the same length. That's why I refer to Tikka barrels as slow. In fact, the slower the twist rate, the faster the bullet should travel. The twist on the 308s, 300WSM and 30-06s is 11 on the Tikkas. My custom barrels are 10 twist or 9 twist in 30 cal. Example, My first Tikka was a 308 stainless T3x Lite. The factory ammo in it shot 190 fps slower than it did in my Benchmark barrels that are 2" shorter with 10 twist.

@@Accuracy1st yeh wow that’s really interesting. I can’t think of any other reason other than perhaps the design of the rifling itself must be different.
