Yes but tbf, the scene isn’t total trash. This scene shows just how much Sakura actually does care about Naruto, even if her way of showing it was messed up. She was willing to give up her friendship and have Naruto hate her for the rest of his life, if that meant that Naruto would forget about the promise he made to her and gave up on trying to bring back Sasuke and be safe in Konoha.

​@@thehighground7926 about that.... what was the point of "confessing her love" to Naruto? Why not just leave at her wanting him to drop the promise he made? This scene felt like manipulation at its core but Naruto didn't go for it. This is made even worse when we find out instead of Naruto going after Sasuke and probably putting up a much even fight, Sakura thought she'd go instead.... WHAT!? What made her believe she (a. would stand a chance against Sasuke) and (b. That Naruto wouldn't have *STILL* gone after Sasuke even if he thought Sakura's confession was real? ) If she got killed by Sasuke, that would have given Naruto even more motivation to go after him. This plan of her's was not well thought out.

@@shangarbagio the reason that she confessed her love to Naruto is because she thought he was king everything to get Sasuke back to Konoha because he loved her and wanted to her to be happy, which meant getting Sasuke back, as that’s what Naruto said to before he left to go get him during the Sasuke retrieval arc. And it felt like manipulation because it was. She was gonna do that to get Naruto away from Sasuke, especially since Danzo gave the okay to kill him, and he left to go speak to the Raikage of all people. And Sakura didn’t get Naruto to come with them to fight/kill Sasuke because of the response he gave her. When he told her that it wasn’t about the promise, and he understood and genuinely wanted Sasuke to come back and quit what he’s doing, she decided not to involve him because it would make him sad. She was willing to take being hated by Naruto if it meant that he was safe and not going into Akatsuki infested territory for Sasuke. And for your question, why thought she would stand a chance again Sasuke, she didn’t. That’s why she was going to use her poison kunai to stab him. She was going to kill because she loved him and didn’t want to see him go down that path. The only thing that messed her up is that when it was actually time to kill him, she couldn’t because she still loved him, and that Sasuke had immunity to poison. She thought he wouldn’t go after Sasuke anymore because she assumed he was doing it just because of the promise he made to her. When Sai told her how Naruto felt, he specifically mentioned the promise and nothing else, that’s why she thought that. If he was doing all that just because he knew she loved Sasuke, then if she loved him instead of Sasuke, he wouldn’t feel the need to keep going after him. All of this was very much explained the show, and it’s very easy to infer for yourself if you paid close enough attention to detail. I don’t think you should say her plan wasn’t well thought out because you got a lot of stuff about her plan wrong, so that’s based off of misguided/misinformed reasons

I also saw the sad realization before that that no matter what Naruto did, Sakura's choice was always Sasuke. "Make him sad!?" Like I mentioned earlier, if she went to kill Sasuke, and he wound up killing her instead, Naruto (who presumably bought Sakura's lie) would have more motivation to go after Sasuke. Either way, Naruto wasn't gonna stop, so it was pointless to assume Sakura's "love" would have changed the outcome. Asking him to stop and literally playing on his emotions had the same result so it was no need to go that far. Everything about that plan was executed poorly.

But I do agree that she should’ve just told him to stop with the promise. Then he was accused of being the cause of Naruto's suffering. as if Naruto's suffering all this time was because of Sakura. not Sakura who sealed the monster in Naruto's body

sakura DID not treat nartuo like garbage (idk if we are watching the same show) sakura was so supportive of naruto becoming hokage she cheered for him more than anyone in the chunin exams she was even willing to try to kill the love of her life so that naruto can be free from chasing after sasuke she told naruto she loved him because sai told her the only reason naruto is chasing after sasuke is because of naruto's love for her and also the promise he made to her if you know the meaning then it shouldnt piss u off she was clearly desperate to save naruto from getting himself killed

Playing on feelings is a red line. She knows that Naruto loves her or has a crush on her so she took advantage of this and confessed that she loves him in order to bring him back to the village. Let me explain to you why what she did is unforgivable Imagine if Naruto believed her and was happy that the girl he loved loved him and he came back With her to the village “ what’s then” ? Will she continue to pretend to love him or will she say, "Well, you finally came back to the village." You know, I was joking, but you came back and stopped chasing Sasuke and that's what matters and what else about Hinata's feelings!!
