I love your perception and I concur that midwifery is indeed limited in Jamaica. My program just ended at KSN. My batch was the last batch and based on your videos I hope to be like you when I start practicing ❤. Question how long did you spend in the hospital before transitioning into the community?
Awwwww❤️👑Thank you so much Midwife. Please strive to be better than me, I was in hospital for 2 years(let me be quick to add that I am not of the opinion that community is better than hospital 😊) all the very best❤️👑
Hey Queen mom Congrats If no reason for a C-section arise in this pregnancy then you should be able to have a vaginal birth. Discuss your preferences with your Midwife or doctor. All the best queen.
My daughter graduated from your school ten years ago and she has been practicing ever scince. She went to that school very shy and timid. She left their very firm and confident.Very good school .The basic pay is too low though. In order to make a decent income she has to do a lot of overtime.
Midwife par Excellence from St James here, I admire your passion and I must say I replica your responses. I also do believe for midwives like myself and yours, we really dont get what we are worth but we do it anyway with love and dedication. Keep up the good work my dear. We are educators on a drive to ensure healthy families, community, country and extension the world.👍
Great video and very informative! I'm a final year midwifery student in England and I'm considering moving back to Jamaica. As a newly qualified midwife, would I still be able to do a preceptorship programme or would employers prefer that I did that in England before making the move?
Hey Queen, technically yes.. because you will still be sent there for work experience but the school is no longer operational from there. UTECH is the only school of Midwifery I am aware of in Jamaica. All the best.❤️👑
@@queenlc2303 Midwifery is done at university hospital of the west indies as a post basic course in that you have to be a registered nurse before going into the program . The UWI however only trains student for bachelors degree in nursing and masters program in nursing education, nurse practitioner and mental health nursing
As you once said you can train anyone to become a a perfect midwife without they even going to skl, I've always admire you from earlier years passed and you always inspire me. #educator#nurse#rolemodel. Keep up the good work hun...
Hi Mam !! I am from India and i am dialysis nurse. I have 5yrs of experience. I would like to work in Jamaica. Could you please help me to reach there. Please guide me.
I know it to be Math, English , Biology and another two subjects (this might not be the case now I attended Midwifery school nearly 14 years now). Visit the website of UTECH and have a look. All the best.❤️👑
I have a question..On your first visit after doing the blood test, if they see any of your results come back positive or maybe something might be wrong would they contact you and inform you before your next visit?
Hey Queen mom ❤️👑 Yes You are usually contacted if something is "wrong". Remember to enquire about your results even if you haven't received a call. These results are to be written in your maternal book has it forms a very important part of your care. All the best❤️👑
I love your personality all of your reasons are why I wanna become a midwife but I tried applying didn't get through but I'm gonna get the necessary qualifications and try again they recently change them so it was kind of a deterrent but I'm hell bent on becoming a midwife
Thank you Nurse Sewell inspite of the many reasons I have been given to stop doing my best I WILL never stop, I simply cannot consent to less there is just this passion(you saw correctly ☺️🤗👏💐) this drive..it's a blessing Queen ❤️👑
Hi, nice to see another video As you come 😅 question: would you advise natural birth in a high risk pregnancy? I’m considered high risk because there’s a fibroid basically feeding off my pregnancy and growing, they say it’s big and I will feel a lot of pain during my pregnancy but I’m not feeling any pain, I’m 4months now baby moving a lot and I mean a lot 😄 very energetic, really hoping and praying to not go csection way, it’s scary to me but anyway that’s best for baby I’ll be ok with still, can’t wait to meet him/her
Awww it was so nice to read this, I can see baby already has alot of love, you are a true Queen mom ❤️👑☺️ so to answer your Question yes it is possible but situations vary, the size and location of the fibroids is one of many things that will determine the mode of delivery. It is like you said at the end of the day it is what is best for you and baby that will be done. Please ensure you speak to your caregiver(doctor /Midwife) .❤️👑
