Just wanna say thank you for sharing over the years Dan I remember a few of those items from your previous videos and it’s made me wonder how you feel about passing these on cos it’s gave me a tinge of sadness to see such amazing finds leave your collection. I first came across your videos when you were in Germany and have been an avid follower ever since. Whether you were metal detecting, visiting historic sites or now magnet fishing I’ve enjoyed it because it’s related, in some way, to history. Someday I’d love to see you visit the old barn that is purported to be built from the bones of the Mayflower.

Thank you for all your amazing metal detecting videos and your never ending ambition to entertain us all and help people in need. Back 4 years ago when I was 14 you were my inspiration to buy my first metal detector and now its one of my favorite hobbies. I found many ww2 relics and even reenacted your ww2 Hand grenade scene LOL. Still got all my fingers! It was and is a amazing Journey watching your videos and learning new stuff about the history of england and metal detecting/magnet fishing. Nice little pieces of history. It’s interesting to think about the people and circumstances under said people losing or discarding them. I like when the patenia is visible. It’s the “roadmap” to each of the pieces life. Everyone and everything holds a story, some spill the beans and some will forever remain anonymous. It’s all in the hunt. Cheers to you both.
Hope everything went to a good home. Happy I have a few German trinkets you detected years ago. I got stung by bees detecting as well. Every day I go out for a bit hoping for treasure, but never happens.
You should still metal detect. Just ask for volunteers to go with you to carry your gear and wield the shovel so your hip doesnt wear out. I'm sure you'd get a few volunteers.
i really wish i had £50!!! i just started a new job so i have zero money. I'm massively into ww1/2 so to own something from that era would be insane! Love the videos! I don't get to watch them as much as I used to with my new job and all, but they always keep me entertained and I get to learn about history which is one of my favorite hobbies! Love to have the medal and I wish everyone luck!

The medieval religious medallion is probably what pilgrims would buy at pilgrimage sites throughout Europe. They would then wear them to show that they visited a holy site or shrine.
Dan my friend I've been with you since the start and I do hope you're not selling these possessions because you have to but because you want to. I love your magnet fishing and travel trolls videos and I'll stick with you till the end and the best of luck in all your future endeavors.

Some good bundles in those lots Dan, I can remember many of those bits and bobs coming out of the ground too back when you were in Germany. Can't believe you've been goin on here now since 2012. I recon I come across your channel around 2013. Still the best metal detecting channel going. Lookin forward to those vlogs. 😉 If I get lucky and win your medal, I'll look after it and guard it well for you, then if times get financially better I'll give it you back if you still want it? It must seem sad to be selling your finds off to raise money.

Loved seeing you go through your finds all laid out neatly and easy to see. I hit pause a few times, there's some smashing good stuff there! Well worth the 50 quid. The quality of what's there is amazing! I just went for a metal detect today at an old Australian Gold boom town with my brother, but all we found mainly was iron findings and the odd brass or lead object. I managed to find one coin though, an "1886 English Half Penny". Bit rough but you can still read the date. Also came across an old hand forged and riveted shovel. I love not knowing what your going to find. Hopefully the next trip is more like a "digger Dan outing" and produces more fruit!!! 😜 Man the day goes fast when you're having fun!

Great collection of finds, Dan. £50 is a bargain, you'd get more than that on Ebay or so, some of your finds are worth at least that on their own! Going to miss your detecting videos, and it was a pleasure to spend a couple of days with you on the digging for coast journey early on, many laughs!
You've got some cool stuff there. If I ever find half of what you've managed to find over the years I'd be happy. Will have to make do with my two hammies and a bit of jewery for now. xx
I'd love to have the WW1 service medal. We found one while metal detecting in Cliviger some 18 years ago. We managed to trace the last surviving daughter of the soldier it was awarded to (Private MAE Glasse) so we had it refurbished by the Northumberland Fisilliers who Private Glasse served with and then presented it back to his daughter. Unfortunately we did not photograph the medal but we did present it back to the soldier's daughter on Granada TV! Whoever gets that medal will be very lucky!
